Our archery season opened on Oct 1st.That being said,I have not been out in the wood line yet!
My first reason was I was working. My 8 hour body was doing four 10 hour days(3 day weekends)it was nice to have 3 days off,but 2 of them were spent ''regrouping''since there is no Sunday hunting here in the Commonwealth of Pissavania(Pa)
Now I'm laid off till the next big job breaks(ya right)With the pain, limp, and all around feeling crappy,I do believe i'm getting a bit depressed. Can you tell by my ''whining''?
In a nutshell does anyone else feel like I do? Lets have a ''pity party''....waaa! waaaaa! I REGRESS!:jaw:

Nope, suck it up and get in the woods. There is no crying in bowhunting. :D

I had a nasty cold/flu thing going on last Saturday and do you know where I was? 20ft up a tree swaying back and forth in 40mph gusts with the squirrels. Thats where. :poke:

Any votes to take cabinkeeper's man card?

I'm right with you. The day that season came in I pinched my rotator cuff at work. Which turned into a week of not shooting then another few days of really taking it easy. Then the weather was so hot I didn't want to go and now that it has turned cold I have managed to mess up knee. Don't even know what I did. I got out of bed took 2 steps and fell over in pain. The doctors think I tore my Medial Meniscus. Will be no fun because I will probably have to have my knee scoped so they can cut out the trash I tore off. Don't know what the recovery time is on something like that. Had the MRI this morning should know the results on Friday.

Going to try to give hunting a go this weekend but walking on uneven ground kills me right now. May just have to have my dad take me all the way to the stand on the ATV then come get me later. I am pretty sure I can climb the ladder but walking through the woods is probably not going to happen.

I feel like this often. I find if I just push myself to get out the door I feel a lot better. Staying active is the best thing for you, sleep is over rated. I'll sleep when I am dead.

It's sooo hard for me to get out of bed that early, especially when I work from 11:30 am - 8:00 pm, I just can't get up at the buttcrack of dawn because work drains me!

I'll be the first to throw a vote in! haha I don't have a job but I do have to balance 18 hours of college with driving 2 hours on the weekend to where I hunt then back again Sunday night! Still while managing to make time for the women! That being said I have been averaging 4 sits a weekend here in good ole Texas!

I have arthritis in my feet/ankles. It can make hiking in hell especially on hilly terrain.

On the days that its acting up I consider staying home then I remember...I cant kill a deer sitting on the couch.

I work 3-11pm and have already worked 2 double (16hr) shifts this week. Ill be up at 3am tom to get in the woods before the inline guys start stomping around and will catch an hr nap before I head back in to work at 3pm and an hr on my lunch break.

If you wanna hunt, you'll suck it up and get out there.

Well I'm 56 yrs old. I work 8 hrs + a day 6 days a week. I've had 3 knee surgeries, 2 shoulder surgeries, a pin in my right foot, I've been a meat cutter for 40 yrs so I have arthritis all over. I try to get into the treestand at least once a week and more if I get the honey-do's done and I get to do it year round on permits.

Get your hind quarters out there and cowboy UP.

I am balancing 18 hours of college, planning a wedding, and about 25 hours of work a week. Granted i don't get out much but i am seeing potential tomorrow morning... If this wind/rain let up a little bit.

MAN CARD REVOKED, until further notice...

I have had that surgery twice. Recovery is not that bad as long as you stick with the therapy. I was back to normal within 2 weeks both times. Hope this helps you.

3/4 of the way through I get pretty beat. My mind is willing but my body is not. I ignore my body and listen to my mind. Sunup to sundown every day of the season until they tell me I can't be in the woods with a weapon anymore :lmao:. Body has 10 months to recover.
