Definitely. I never watched any of that while young so never got the interest.

Exactly. That's the price range I was looking at and it seems like they have some decent ones for the price but I need to do more research and hear from people who do it more before I drop the cash.

I bought the Garrett Ace 350 package with headphones and handheld pinpointer for about $400. The pinpointer is a must have, IMO.
For that price, the 250 detector gets great reviews as well and runs about $300.

I knew I shouldn't have opened this  These threads always cost me money.

Bought a Garret Ace 250 several years ago. Found a few quarters I tossed blindly over my back and then it sat in the closet. Sold it a few years ago to a coworker and bought some raffle tickets at a gun rally, won an AR. Read this thread and started looking at some on Cabelas, can't figure out what to use a $150 gift card on.

Anyhow, I text the coworker and he hasn't used it so buying it back Monday for what I sold it to him for.

Still have that pesky gift card though

sounds like your in a hard spot!!! lol I wouldn't have any problem getting rid of the gift card. maybe spend it on a hand wand detector similar to the garrett pro pointer.
