I saw this link up at the top of the forum here in that little "Ads by google" window.

It's for the "Swhacker" Broadhead (The person that named it should be swhacked :deer: )
I remembered seeing these as a sponsor on a hunting show on Sportsman's or Outdoor channel but I couldn't remember which one and when I went to search it later on I couldn't remember the name and kept trying different versions of Thwacker instead. LOL :d

Anyway it seems to have fairly sound physics behind it , locked position is very "Ragelike" but the website is cheesball and doesn't even give a cutting diameter unless I can't find it which is entirely possible.
It won't give the entrance wound that a Rage does by design but should penetrate like crazy since it has those smaller lead blades and then opens inside to fresh cutting surfaces.
Sort of a cross between a Rage and an Aftershock but with razor sharp levering edges rather than dull ones like an Aftershock.

If it's more than 2" in cutting diameter I might be interested in adding it to the collection of "to try" broadheads in my arsenal.

Website definetly needs work. I wouldn't mind knowing more about them but the site doesn't say much!

I Know, you would think the "Greatest broadhead on the market" would have a little better website content. :sheep:

It looks like the Rocky Mountain Gator to me. They also use the same design as the Aftershock broadheads.

I'm sure they will kill stuff.

Hank Parker says they work. Thats all the convincing I need. If they will go through a buck that just ate 80 pounds of dead stump laced with C'Mere Deer, they will go through anything!!:d

I'm trying out the Aftershocks this season. I'm still not sure what to expect, but the Schwacker looks really cheap in comparison IMO.

It's not the same as a rocky Mt. Gator.....or even close actually.

In a Gator the blades are levered outward from the bottom of the ferrule with the cutting edge facing outward, and their position is held entirely by the resistance on the blunt end. The blades free float.

In this Shwacker design the blades lever outward from the tip and once they get out beyond the edge of the ferrule resistance swings them around and to the rear into their locked position. These blades are in a static position at this point with no float like a Rage head.

It does appear that the swacker works on the same basic principle as the Aftershocks though. The tips are held inboard and out of sight and are completely inside the body cavity before the rearward blade edges lever them open where they swing into their final position.

Looks like this should be an improvement on the Aftershock though with the cutting design of the wing blades , and possibly better tip. Not sure if teh flat vs. curved blades has any advantage over the Aftershocks or not.
The entrance I would guess will look like a normal 2 blade fixed head and the exit like a Rage 2 blade?

I looked up the Gators and you're right, they're nothing like the Schwackers. I guess I was thinking of the Aftershocks.

I'm just not sure about the mechanism on it. Is it just another shiny object we hunters get sucked into. I've shot my Muzzy's for along time. I'd have to have a really good product that would cause me to walk away from them. I've shot them at 50 yds & all went where they were supposed to. I'ver heard of slick tricks,
g-5's, rage, as being the hottest ones out there, but still am not convinced. If they are better than Muzzy's in some way, that they kill deer more efficiently then I'd look at them.
