Buddy rattled in a decent 9 point last night... They got it on video and he was grunting the entire way to their stand. Should be a good weekend.
I will be in my fav spot the next 3 days but sightings have been low. My dad talked to the guy across street and he has a wolf den in his back yard, might explain some things.
Doing my first two all day sits this weekend. Any tips on how to stay focused all day? I am sure the deer will help out with that, but just in case. Just have that feeling that my 5 year quest to bag a buck is going to come to an end this weekend. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Which one??? Surprisingly I almost connected this evening. I had a perfect 14 yard broadside shot opportunity on a mid 120's 9 point. Problem was I wasn't sure if it was him or not. His head was behind a giant basswood tree. There's a young 3 year old that looks very similar to him that I passed on Sunday night. I would've been pissed if I would've shot him accidentally. Back to this evening. This SOB 9 pointer walks directly away and that's when I see and figure out its him for sure. 200+ dressed buck for sure. 4 or 5 year old I'm guessing.

Pretty darn close this morning. He wouldn't stop chasing a doe. Watched a show for about 20 minutes. Had him in range a couple times but he wasn't having anything to do with stopping.
Finally out in the stand...or should I say blind. Hour or so to go until shooting light. Sitting on my cereal grain plot. The north wind wasn't ideal for where I wanted to go. But it's cold, heavy frost, and the deer are moving, so we'll see what happens! Bucks are starting to seek. Had 4 different 3.5 year old+ hitting a scrape the last week. Finally got my dad a shot at one of them (130's 10 pt.) Thursday afternoon, but his crossbow bolt went soaring over it's back. First shot he's taken on a deer since his stroke in '09.
Friday starts my unpaid weeks huntcation. Just hope it doesn't turn in to a 24hr+ shift for Thursday.
I struck out. Passed a young funky racked buck yesterday that I couldn't talk myself into shooting. Saw a little chasing also. Not quite wide open here, but it's getting real close.

Nailed it! I didn't want to post on this thread before I got it done due to the jinx, but I had a good feeling about Saturday morning. I killed a 158" buck I've got history with at 9:55 AM. I'd post some pics, but they suck from my phone. He's on the team 21 thread and the "I got a text thread" started by monsterraxx where you can see some better pics.
