Had birds in the mulberry pen. They literally cleaned the ground......OMG!!! The coop looked like a honey dipper truck exploded in it this morning . One white Tom had a blk. Back shoulder to tip of tail...shoot me now what a mess!...lol

Just got some wicked wind through here. Weather channel says 11mph gusts, but I'd say these are at least 30. Crazy.. say a prayer to the garden gods that my pride and joy(s) aren't laid over by the time the sun comes up.

I may string line the corn winds every year mess up my corn. Today it rolled around the melons and squash I layed rocks on a few leaves. Most everything else is on trellises. Will stake sunflowers. Picked another 5#'s of blueberries today. Not even a dent in what it needed. Hopefully rain holds off in the morning. I need to get the raspberries as well. 21 1/2#'s so far this last 4 days kids took some on road trip. Froze many trays then vac sealed. Sending a bunch to grandsons. Did I mention the blueberry Sundays. Hubbies real mine ninja creamie coconut milk, cream cheese, allulose for sweetener and real vanilla. Let me tell you better than real and I don't like coconut milk. It's a crazy machine in what it does.

Lots of tomatoes, peppers now just developing. Cukes went wild and will have pickable sizes soon. Yellow squash producing but zucchini still behind. Lettuce is finally starting to bitter so chickens will get the old and new is just about right size, picked some carrots beans developing. Melons in full blossoming will do some hand pollinating.. beets getting to freezer size and new beets starting will pick Swisschard today eggplants starting to flower. Sunflowers 4 ft tall, broccolisprouted okra 3 inches already.
So far even though late due to cool start a perfect growing season. Even my 2 poor pumpkin seedlings are 4 inches tall. Tender care and I may still get a few for the grandsons.. the cable moths hit Brussels hard even with DE dusting hand crushed so many the other day will dust again today.

Oh 6 eggs in the last few days....hhhhmmm really tiny though. I bought chickens that are suppose to produce medium to large eggs. I'm hoping this is a first laying thing. They are certainly well fed. Was one chicken out of the 14 but now getting 2 a day. I do not recall my chickens in the past laying first eggs this small.

I'm up to 31#'s blueberries so far.
BNB I'm almost caught up to your sunflowers. Here my 2 sad little pumpkins the chipper didn't get. Lots of tomatoes love the blk. Cherry Cherokee. Peppers and acorn developing.
I always worry about the garden because no matter when I first plant everything grows slow and develops late. Always unfounded and I get my usual " canning" garden.
    The blueberry netting will get me well over a hundred #'s of blueberries this year. 20230720_110832.jpg 20230720_110745.jpg 20230720_110722.jpg 20230720_110630.jpg 20230720_110620.jpg 20230720_110552.jpg 20230720_105726.jpg 20230720_105426.jpg

Just picked this tonight. Sautéing up to sit beside some pan seared back straps. Can’t beat 100% self sufficiency. IMG_9050.JPG

Found out today that my hunch about the turkeys protecting the flock was spot on. Grandpup that is stafford/ rat terrior she wanted those chickens bad. The toms puffed up , both alert purr/clucked ,spread wings wide shaking them and stomped at her. AJ tried herding her away, when that didn't work he grabbed her collar and dragged her back from fence. Funny how they except him but instantly went on attack with the pup

Things are blowing up in the garden. Up to 50#'s of blue berries and 5# 's of wild raspberries. Now the wild blackberries are now starting. Beans almost ready as well as the cukes. Had to finally pull the first lettuce and birds loved it. Cabbage needs picking we will get crazy amounts of peppers and tomatoes. Love the surprise tomatoes. Thought most would be the blk. Cherokee cherries. There is a variety of cherry ,patio and salad tomatoes

Same here but it was the summer squash that got whipped around. My tomatoes get weaved in and out of the rebar mesh panels as they grow works great. Found my first musk melon today.

I can hardly wait. I did what a bunch of you tubers said to do and gently tapped each cluster of flowers daily. Well dang if that didn't work! First time I've gotten tomatoes on each and every flower along the cluster.

For crying out loud, 8 collect my sweet pepper seeds from winter store bought sweet peppers . I also save my own jalapeño. I could not find the container for those. I went on line an found seed.
Well I notice that my jalapeños aren't looking like jalapeños, I don't know what they
    are...
I find out that a whole bunch of wrong seeds, mislabled packs went all over the country...hhhhmmmm lucky me. Still waiting to see if any are jalapeños.. so far no. I also don't know if any are actually hot.

Nothing like a fresh picked Cherokee purple. This is going on a couple slices of toast with mayo this morning! Top it with that bagel seasoning and you’ve got magic!
