Yah I have two big pieces of meat that I made sure had as much skin attach I'll have plenty to keep the meat covered and moist cooking
Man, made French onion soup last night with my bone broth. Mix of yellow and red onions plus garlic from garden, so good! Making more apple juice nowadays Ettinger ready to pick more apples. My unknown winter squash that I thought were butter nut are great! They actually are a type of butternut. Orange skin WAY smaller mini. The flavor is fantastic and very small seed cavity. A dry very sweet flesh way easier to cut.
Another marathon of picking washing and canning , plus Will be 5 quarts of apple juice pictured . I made pear crisp also cored and sliced peppers for the freezer. Oh canning a few quarts of apple sauce for baking tonight.
Hubby picked up 15 good sized bales of oat straw today. The big green house coop will get combo of that and chips as a flooring. I'll be adding some greens and leaf litter to a section for a composting effect. This with daytime sun should help keep them warmer this winter. The N/E end of 20ft structure will have a layer or 2 of bubble wrap under a dark brown tarp over the green house film. The SW end will just get bubble wrap. Both sides are lined in screened windows that close. The green house sits on 4ft insulated walls. So even with a cross wind ventilation they can stay low out of the air flow for comfort. Getting ready for winter it is dang cold out there tonight
Another 10 jars of canned pears done today. Now I can concentrate on the rest of the apples that need to be done The one thing really really wish I had more of is those jalapeños. I really do not like that pablono's they sent me. That and a cool summer has seriously put a dent in my poppers.
My daughter, yesterday she put on a birthday dinner for the oldest grandson, baked a cake and canned a bunch of venison the son in law shot Saturday afternoon. Bad ass 4 x 4 country woman. So proud of the practicality.
