Yeah probably but I'd still like to see it if you get a chance and don't mind messing with taking/posting them. Always room on the forum for pics of cool vehicles.
Here is my 1953 Dodge Job Rated Pickup I mentioned. It's currently at my parents. I did a lot of work on the brakes and wheels and sanding down to bare metal when I got it about 10 years ago but haven't touched it at all recently. Got busy and didn't have the time or money to put into it so I will probably be selling it soon. Or trying anyway. Obviously my parents decided to use it as storage and I can't really blame them.
That's awesome! It looks like it's in really good shape considering the age and everything. Have you decided what you need to get out of it?
It is in good shape and even ran when I first parked it there. I'm not sure what they are worth but I know a guy that paid $2000 just for the glass out of one exactly like mine. I told him it was his lost because I probably would have sold the whole truck for that back then lol. Any idea of what they are worth or a good site to check on it? I tried googling briefly but didn't find much.
Nah, I don't have any idea to be honest. They are somewhat rare from what I've seen but I have never really paid much attention to them either. As far as I know, they've never been a very sought after make and model but I have not really been in the "collectors market" for a very long time either. I have not looked around for any but I don't recall seeing any resource for repop parts for them. LMC truck is a great supplier for ford, chevy but dodge they don't go back past the 70's. So my guess is that availability of parts is likely going to hold the value down a lot on a rebuilder. I'd think that $2K number would be pretty reasonable though. I found a couple pretty easily online, one was priced at $2500 and the second one was at $1500. The higher priced one was in much rougher condition than yours and the cheaper one was in better condition (from what I could tell). So not really very good info there. All those old vehicles are kind of those deals where they are worth what someone is willing to pay. I'd pay the $2000 for it just because it'd make a neat addition to my 1953 5 window chevy. Of course now it (my 53 chevy) needs a rebuild on it from sitting for a long time now. I parked it when I went to college in 95 and hardly ever drove it anymore. I always planned on installing a 350 with AC and power steering and a 350 turbo automatic in it. They certainly aren't the most practical things to drive if it weren't for the cool factor of the design, lol. They really need to be made into resto mods to make them really fun to own and drive. IMHO.
Thanks for the info, I have a family friend who may be interested in it but he didn't know the value and didn't want to lowball me and I didn't want to screw him over either lol. I'd just be glad to get it off my parents carport and have some money for more realistic projects for me and my family haha
