Ok Yankee haters take your anti yankee glasses off for a moment and give me your objective opinion on who wins the world series. Great pitching matchup tonight with CC and Lee. Should come down to the bullpen. I think they split in NY and head to philly. Yanks go down 3-2 coming back home and win it in 7.
Well, they Yank's are my favorite AL team and the Phillies are my favorite NL team. I have been a huge Yankee's fan since I can remember and I am pulling for them to win... but I just have a bad feeling about it. I have no stats and no real reason for it, but I think the Phillies are going to repeat. The teams are so much alike, but I think the Yankee's bullpen is hit or miss, and the Phillies line-up seems a little stronger.
Yankee's SUCK! Is that objective enough? Ok, now what I really think. The Phillies have enough lefty pitchers to get the job done and quiet some of the yankee bats. Philly in 6.
Regardless of the outcome I think we are in for a really good, competetive series. It won't be a one sided affair by any means.
I agree. Very even teams. Both really good offense. Both about the same SP depth with a couple horses. Yanks may have a very slight edge on the bases. Both play sound defense. Should be a great competitive series. I think the Yanks nip them with their bullpen and especially the closer. Rivera is the best to ever play and Lidge is not too far removed from blowing A LOT of saves. He righted the ship for now, but ya never know. A mistake or 2 from these Yankee hitters and he's not getting away with it. Mariano ... simply doesn't make mistakes.
OK, great pitching by both starters in game one. Lee was just a bit better. CC made a couple of mistakes and Philly took advantage. How long into the broadcast of game two do we get before we see a sign that says, "Who's your daddy"? Charlie Manuel isn't Grady Little and Pedro has been pitching well lately. Will the yanks be Pedro's daddy again? Who is the starting catcher for the yanks? AJ doesn't like Jorge but Jorge is the best the yanks have. Oh, the drama of the fall classic!
I was actually stunned last night watching the yankees. I don't know where they were last night, but it certainly wasn't at that game. I bet they come out swinging tonight though.
I was extremely impressed with Cliff Lee. Not just because of how well he pitched...but also his confident dimeanor on the mound.
