I'm still wanting to hunt this last 2 weeks, but snow camo right now would be almost a must standing in the tree line. Any one use any particular type? While on the subject, I'm also looking for a snow camo pop up blind. Any suggestions on that would be appreciated.

just bought a jacket and pants from Bass Pro, very cheap $59/ea if thats not your style they sell oversized bibs to go over you exsisting camo... same price!$59 wow! its the only stuff they have i'll post the name of it later/tomorrow... i would recommend you not take the tag off em (bibs) until you try em on over your stuff at home... buddy bought a size too small and had to exchange.

Depends on the backdrop- Thick woods behind means you are OK. Thin treeline, no backdrop, you can probably wear snow camo all the time(birch tree...). You need to look at your stand from the deer's view, and then either change camo, or add cover(brush, limbs)
Sure there's snow on the branches now, but the wind is blowing it off constantly. All snow camo is roughly the same, and I used to think that way too. But remember, what about your hands, feet, head, backpack, bow, etc...better get it all in snow camo, right? I'd say 90% of the time you are OK in tree camo(assuming you are in a treestand). If you are using a groundblind, you really don't need any, just wear black. But if I had to guess, I'd say all around, that new Mossy Oak Treestand looks light enough to pass off as drab snow cover.

The Gander in Janesville is all out of camo. I'll have to check out sportsman's. It is a little thin where I'm at. I'm in a split of an oak tree, w/my stand on one side of it. There is snow all on the branches. Obviously it'll be on a special situation w/a fresh snowfall day, but something I thought would hide me a little better. Depending on which way the wind blows, the side of the trees are covered from ground up, and I thought that the all camo may stick out a little. Yes, I agree that hat/gloves/facemask is something to consider. Jacket & pants is exactly what I'm looking for. thanks for the input.

One option would be to move/rotate the stand behind the tree(use the tree trunk as cover), but it depends on if that part of the trunk will allow it, and you really better like that spot cuz you will need to stand the whole time. Have you tried the adding cover/PMI option? Maybe you can hang brush from a treestep?

    Good Luck!

If you are hunting on the ground in good heavy snow cover forget the snow "camo" and go ALL WHITE.
White everything out, hat, face, gloves, jacket and pants.
There is NOTHING stealthier than white on white, you can stand right out in the open if you have snow behind you deer just cannot see it.
The body creates it's own shadows and any of the "snow camos" appear to dark against a pure snow backdrop and the contrast will give you away everytime.

With pure white even the sparsest cover around you and you are virtually invisible.

I like the idea of maybe moving the stand & using the tree for cover. But I would be skylined because the tree is split where my stand is at.
I did find a site w/some real cool looking camo. I think it was called sticks & limbs camo. Looked pretty interesting in white. They do have a jacket/pants that go over your stuff, but because of Christmas, it would be awhile b=4 it was delivered.
