Ive had pple tell me that urine is neutral but i find that hard to believe due to the ways whitetails use urine.
I personally bring a bottle to my stand.
    Who does/doesnt?

When I take a leak off my stand it makes me feel like I'm part of nature. :tu: Seriously, I don't think twice about doing that.

Save the "peeing in a bottle" thing for survival situations. Unnecessary for hunting purposes.

Right off the stand. I try to see how far I can get it. Sometimes I aim for things like pine cones and such. It's liberating. And what would saving your piss accomplish in a survival situation? It becomes toxic once it mixes with air.

I use a bottle every time. Alot of guys will argue that this is unnecessary. To each his own. My theory is don't take chances, never cut corners and you will always be more successful than guys that do! I cannot definitively say that it hurts or doesn't. But why take the chance? Deer can differentiate between regular urine and estrous urine. they can tell coyote from deer urine....what makes you think human urine would not smell foreign and put them on alert? When it comes to scent control, why go to all the extremes to be as scent free as possible and not burnout spots only to urinate on your best spot........? Details, Details, details........Yeah, its that important"

I go right off my stand. I used to bring in a big gatorade bottle on all day sits. Then one day that wasnt enough, so instead of calling it a day I just went from my stand. The deer came right by it and it didnt affect them at all.

All deer know from our pee is that we're meat eaters, thats it.They can't determine that its a humans urine or a bob cats,or a tree rat for that matter. If it makes a better hunter taking a bottle and lugging it around, power to u.
    Good hunting,be safe,

I've killed deer where I've pee'd and even where I've taken a dump in a creek right at my stand. But I urban bowhunt so things are a little different regarding smells and deer reaction. Deer in the "big woods" might act totally different.

He peed in a sandwich bag. Sunlight + plastic bag = magnifying effect when used with the sun. It worked. Think I'll just carry matches or a lighter though. :D

In a survival situation, you'd immediately drink your urine after peeing in a bottle. Urine is sterile, unless you have a UTI. Urine contains waste products, but also contains water. Just ask the guy who cut off his own arm. He drank his urine to survive :)

As far as deer hunting goes: I generally try not to pee around my stand, but if I got to go, I got to go. I've urinated off my stand, and have still had deer come in.

I kind of figured it had something to do with magnification. But i'm with you, I never go into the woods without some way of making fire. In my waterproof bag I have at least two lighters and in one of the pockets on my Sitka bag is a fire starter. So I think I'll just keep pissing off the stand. But I gotta admit, it is kind of a challenge with my new summit stand, that front bar kind of gets in the way.
