I have an old PSE Pacer Bow from back in the '70's. The round wheels are held in a metal bracket which is bolted to the limbs. The cable is a real metal cable coated in plastic. And thee is no cable guard either. I still use it for bowfishing and it works.

I hated those painted brass pins with the finger tightening nut...what a pain those were.

anyone ever see a fred bear fiberglass/plastic hang on treestand? i had one, a friend borrowed it and broke the corner off it,still have part of it in the barn.
green ugly thing base had a chain on it and the front of the platform had a brace that you would stab into the tree to set the stand angle.

    I remember.

AIAA Championships at Cobo Hall In Detroit 1970.

I remember the only reason to miss opening day of bowseason in deer camp was if you were dead or one of your closest was dying. 78-79 time frame, check out Tommy's fresh perm.

Thats a Bear Alaskan Dave's got there, I think that thing had 6 stinking wheels on it.
So I sold him my Arrow Star it only had 4 on it.

Always had to stop and see Fred and take a trip through the Museum befor they packed up and left for Florida. Thats Freds world record Kodiak at that time.

I was fresh in from Kentucky for this Michigan deer hunt :jaw:.

And you had to have a picture of yourself with a pack on your back with a deer rack on top of it, even if it was along side of a Kentucky Bean Field!

Bear tags were over the counter back then and I could not wait for September to roll around. Had to have a beard for bear camp and could not cut it off till you killed one or paid for a night at the Bar, and it wasn't cheep. Couple of the guys could not grow one  but then they could not kill a Bear either.

Bear Camp = Beer, Pickeld Bologna, Ritz Crackers, Cigars, and Risk. Get some!

    You and me both.

It really is amazing what we have to choose from nowadays.Any cheap sight today is better than any good sight 15 years ago.Bows ,even the bargain basement stuff is much more user friendly,(disclaimer,as long as it isn't a cheap speed bow. Some of today's higher end speed bows are very user friendly)

I remember sliding down a tree on a Baker with no safety belt. Now I wouldn't even think about getting in a tree without a HARNESS.

    Nice pics silver.

I had 4 or 5 of those Cougar Magnums....darn good shooting bow at the time. I forgot about the steel cables, very reliable though when I think about it.

As you said Dan, I remember going bowhunting and NEVER seeing another hunter. Bowhunting was pretty much a novelty and it was relatively easy to find hunting land. A handshake and your word of honor was golden.

I also remember custom camo painting my bows and then sometimes removing the paint after season.

A one deer per season limit. I remember taking a doe ended my season a couple times, but I was really happy to just take a deer.

I still have my old wooden Darton with burger button, painted pins, and the little rubber arrow holder. It was my first bow.
