So I'm sitting at my desk right now thinking about playing some hooky. I'm at about 98% of my quota for the month already and have the rest of it lined up for Monday morning, everyone is out of the office at trade shows, there is a cold front coming through, and I'm thinking of bailing out early to "work from home" for the rest of the day. I'll likely be watching my email/voicemail from a tree though at Dan's camp for the evening, before we hop back in the car and head down to my camp to meet Matt tonight.

So who else plays hooky to get tree time?

I have been known to get food poisoning from the call center cafeteria from time to time, usuall happens when the barometer is climbing to 30.31 and the weather is getting cold and clammy. Luckily nobody in the building is in tune with hunting and the weather.

Now get your butt out, that same system had deer moving like crazy here last night.

Unfortunately my boss knows where I'm at pretty much all the time. It wouldn't do me too much good to play hooky, shoot a big buck, then ask him to come help me drag it out and take pics. :D

So no, I don't play hooky. When I want to go hunting, he knows!

I was hoping to do that today but plans for me have now changed. This was going to be an all hunting weekend. Now it doesn't look like I will be able to get out at all.

Good luck to everyone this weekend!

I had a plan. Turns out my daughters grandmother(my ex-mother-in-law) was rushed to intensive care yesterday. They had to fly her to another hospital a few hours away from where they live. So I have to go down and watch my daughter for the weekend now because everyone else will be at the hospital.

I was hoping to do that but she is on student counsel and they have a haunted house tomorrow so she has to be at the school most of the day.

I leave all the time early to get an evening hunt in. My boss is cool and knows I will make up for the time later in the year.

Just as long as I don't abuse it...

I can't. I'm a teacher. Well I suppose I could. I don't have flexible vacation like you guys do though. I get a lot of it. Just not during hunting season.

Mine depends when the sun goes down. As season closes the earlier the sun goes down, then I head out of work earlier. It also depends how successful I've been earlier in the season. If the freezer's full, I don't "need" to get out.
