I don't know if it's the best, but I think it sounds very realistic. I don't "blind call", but if I see a buck and it looks like he's not going to come my way, I'll soft grunt with it to see if I can change his direction..

That's how I killed my buck last year. Worked good enough I guess

I love my extinguisher call because it can make so many realistic sounds without taking the call apart. Its fairly loud but not the loudest I've used. The promos buck roar and the mad hypergrowl are both excellent calls too. They aren't as versitial as the extinguisher but they are extremely loud calls. I like my hypergrowl better than my Buck roar because of how good the grunt is on it. They are all good calls thou . It Just depends on what you want.

It would be hard for me to use anything other than a True Talker.

I have several brands of calls. I usually carry my Extinquisher and one of my other numerous calls. I bought the new Primos Revolver for this year. I wanted a call that could quickly change from buck to doe with out O-rings, but had more volume than my Extinquisher. The Revolver is pretty close to volume of the Buck Roar from comparing the two in the house.

I was a Buck Roar user for years, but this year I won a grunt call from Duel Game Calls and I LOVE the way it sounds.
I mean, I've heard plenty in the wild, and this is as close as it gets in my mind. Pricey, so I can't say I would own one if I had to buy it but it might pique someone's interest.

Yup I bought the Primos buck roar last year and it gets LOUD, It also has a snort weeze tube and with a little practice you can make awesome pops and clicks with it! The one time last year I could've really used it I forgot it and my range finder in my truck, so I can't tell you if all the noise is a good or bad thing...

True talker or extinguisher here...most realistic IMO and the extinguisher is loud enough.
I have a MAD buck growl with snort wheeze combo that's loud but sounds a bit off...I usually leave that at the house but use the snort wheeze piece occasionally.

I have a basic flextone grunt call. Justin is right though, if they are in the mood they will come. Hell, I've used my mouth on a nice 10 point last year that was out about 50 yards and I pissed him off. After I snort wheezed at him all the hairs on his back stood up and then he really got mad. He ended up backing down and leaving the same way he came in.

If I had to guess he backed down because there was another buck that was bigger and chickened out. I guess that's the risk you take when you snort wheeze.

I keep this in my pack as I can get a bigger sound from it...but I stay only Tru-Talker as I've had much better luck with passive and quieter approaches to calling than loud....but when I gotta attempt a long try the Roar is good.

I am a big fan of the Primos buck roar and Can. The two together make an excellent rut combo.

MAD has been good to me a number of years but has started seizing up. Bought last years Roar for under $4 yesterday so that will now be my go to. I also use a smaller Flextone as a tending call.
