I would love to get the chance too! But our Fish and Game hasnt figured out what a buck to doe ratio means.. We are really getting some areas that are hvy in does and they need thinned badly. Its still a one tag system here for the most part and if your willing... the second tag costs you non-resident prices so I doubt unless its the last day of the season that I will ever shoot a doe. I'd love to see at least one extra doe tag offered in my unit. I had a blast in ND this winter getting to shoot my first doe ever... 27 years of hunting.. first doe kill and I had to get out of state to have the chance.
Last year was the first time I shot a doe with my bow in 4 years. I'd like to shoot more but don't see many.
i have shot a couple does. but i agree TEmbry its always fun harvesting a doe, but i dont get the rush i get after shooting a nice buck, but we do have WAY to many does, and they are good eating so i do usually harvest a doe every year, unless its a really cold minnesota winter and i dont want to de hid it outside then ill wait haha
Since I get a lot of tags and we have a lot of deer, I get a TON of fun out of shooting does. Some years it works out easy, some years it's a little tougher, but it's always fun.
Doe tags in Missouri are 7 bucks. I shoot as many as possible up until first of November. I prefer that doe to feel quite at home and hopefully that big boy is on her tail on another day.
I take does on a regular basis..in this part of Va, we can kill as many does as we want. Now I do let em walk if I am hunting a certain area with lots of bucks or some big buck sign, But I love to eat tender loin from a nanny, I kill my share of em.
I'm a hunter and I love hunting any legal animal I have a tag for. We get plenty of Doe tags! So yes I look forward to filling my freezer every year with venison.
