hard to say Mathews is strong, lots of dealers. Tthe biggest Hoyt dealer in the state is nearby and he pushes them pretty hard. Bowtech was coming on but seems their momentum slowed down 1 1/2 years ago.
Mathews, Bowtech and Hoyt. At the area club about 50/50 Mathews and Bowtech with a smattering of Hoyt.
Pretty much everybody at my local shop shoots Mathews and most of the bows I see used are Hoyt and PSE. I myself have a Bear and a PSE that I love, but I definitely see a Z7 in my future.
I shoot all around eastern mo during 3d and I see everything. Bowtech, Hoyt, and Mathews are all about equal. PSE is 4th and I've seen Elites, Diamonds, etc. One bow I see very few of is Martin's...They just don't sell them anywhere around here.
My shop owner sells Mathews; Hoyt; PSE; Bowtech; Ross and has also sold (don't know if he still gets them...or even if they're in business) AR. When he first started out, he pushed the heck out of PSE. Consequently, most guys who shot there (indoor range) shot PSE. Lately, he's pushed the Mathews, Bowtech and Hoyt lines (since he's picked them up. The owner of the shop shoots a Hoyt (AR). His assistant shoots a Mathews (Reezen). His two shop shooters shoot Bowtech and Hoyt. If I had to base what I see off what most of the guys who hang out around there shoot......I'd say it's slightly leaning towards Mathews.....followed by Bowtech....then Hoyt. If I had to base it on what I see shooters at 3D shoots were shooting, I'd say it was HEAVILY weighted towards Mathews and Hoyt......followed by Bowtech. Of the hunters I have hunted with, this year (here and at their places), I've hunted with guys who shoot (as far as compounds go): Hoyt; Mathews; Hoyt; Mathews; Diamond; Hoyt; PSE; Mathews; Mathews; Bowtech (and whatever Brett shoots escapes me).
I'll echo Rob, It's a fair mix around here. I will say of the archers in our area who buy brand new, I would bet it goes like this: 1. Mathews 2. Diamond 3. Hoyt/Bowtech 4. Martin/PSE/Reflex low end packages. A that shoot, we were an hour and half away from home and there was a Bowtech dealer 13 miles from the shoot. The only reason that the Bowtech numbers weren't even higher yet was that the Club we were shooting at had recently changed alliances from Bowtech to Elite and there were a few of them there.
The shop I go to has nearly every bow line, and I've heard them say that Hoyt leads the way in sales year in/year out. I think price has something to do with that, they always seem to be priced higher on the Mathews/Bowtech/PSE top end bows than other dealers.
1a. Bowtech 1b. Mathews It's pretty close, but I would say Bowtech has the slight edge over Mathews as far as numbers go.
From who I'm around most (essentially club members and students at school) Matthews and PSE. Next would be Hoyt/Bowtech.
lots of bear matthews and hoyt. the matthew dealer sells mission too but i dont actuall see many. the hoyt dealer sells bear also. however i dont go to ranges or bow compitetions
I'm not sure why this is important? Maybe 60-70% of the hunters you know are easy to persuade. Everytime I see one of these threads I am reminded of a hunt in New Zealand. I pulled up to a lodge for a one day window of opportunity to hunt fallow deer. When I opened up my bow case, I had a Mathews shooter standing over me with a smug smile. He said, "So, you shoot a Pull-Shoot-Explode I see." I bite my lip and didn't respond. He continued to take every opportunity to stab me without even knowing me. This man from Canada continue to recount his five day fallow deer hunt, and how difficult it is to get a shot on these elusive deer. He was going home empty handed. I set off. Within the first two hours I could have killed five fallow deer. I dragged the deer I did bag back to the lodge. As I passed this Canadien, I said, "Yep, you can always tell a Mathews shooter by what's hanging on the wall." It was definitely a touche moment. So here it is in a nut shell, at least for me: Bowtech is practice, Mathews is theatre, PSE is Truth.
WTF? Where did this come from? I have never hunted anywhere but norther MN. I was just curious. No adjenda no nothing, but here goes. As far as the worthless thread coment, most of the threads here and elsewhere are worthless. We still read them and coment on them. Dont "we". So untill I get to hunt New Zealand, Alaska, The Rockies, canada, most of the Midwest States, Africa, and where ever else you hunt I guess I will only be looking at my 6 lonely whitetail mounts on my wall.
