Seeing all the gear that everyone has in another thread has me wondering how many people are actually filming this upcoming season. For those of you that are what do you do with your footage? Are you going to do editing work and post it publically for all to see or just keep it for yourself? I would love to get a list of everyones site to see all the footage that you capture and see how everyone does editing. I upload all my videos to youtube. You can find the address in my signature. I would like to someday develop a little webshow with all my footage. I have played around with doing that already as you can see but mainly as a way of learning how to edit. It helped to do editing with a specific purpose and goal for me.
I'm just doing a little editing then posting on huntvids and putting the link here and at another hunting. More for me and friends.
I got my camera before last year just for personal use. My dad wouldn't let me film him but after seeing my DVD he ended up buying a wireless mic so I could film him the upcoming year. I basically do it for personal use and to give to my aunt since she loves it so much and we hunt on her ground.
i never step foot in the woods without a cameraman anymore...started in 2006....no plans to change! I love it!
This will hopefully be my first year doing it. I played around a bit last year and its not easy lol. But I'm ready for the challenge. Would like to start a small website, more like a blog site, for my hunting and fishing. Well see what happens. Most nervous about the editing. Never been great with the tech stuff and wish I had someone who could come help me hands on...im not good with learning by reading, I'm a hands on guy. But, hopefully I can work something out!
Been doing it for about 7-8 years now... I give all my footage to friends creating dvds or using it for their shows. Last year I had some footage that was used on Mathews Dominant bucks show and most of my footage goes to a local friend at Detty Outdoors. Some of my footage is on youtube along with other guys but I mainly film for myself to be able to relive the experiences I have.

This year I'll get drawn for a bear license so yes I'll be filming myself IF a bear shows up. I filmed myself shooting a bear back In 2010. That was quite the experience. Footage was pretty awesome I thought.
I'm the opposite of everyone I guess, as I film less and less each year. The only time I really like to film anymore is when I have a cameraman. Now that I'm traveling less and hunting on the family land, its rare that Johnny and I hunt together. I can't stand self filming.
I only self-film as I couldn't stand others with me when I have tried it!!! 2011 season I only filmed the doe I took for the BH.com team competition. I believe I hunted out of 23 different trees last season with my bow and only filmed out of that one tree which was the first weekend of the WI archery season. After that I kind of got into a groove where I limited the amount of equipment I was hauling into the woods with me. It made for a more peaceful and enjoyable experience IMO for me. Plus, most of the trees I hunted the remainder of the season did not allow for me to attach my camera the way I prefer to self-film. It should be added that I might be the only person remaining in the US who is filming with a Sony mini-cassette recorder. It seems most people have upgraded to digital.
Camera is ALWAYS in tow with me,our footage is used for our show DRT Hunting Tv,just a reminder I have a Sony FX7 cam for sale that was my back-up,so if you know of anyone looking to get started in filming send them my way. Steve
I am looking for a camera but still many months away from being able to afford it. Sent from my DROID X2 using Tapatalk 2
I'm going to give it a shot this year. I'm going to be using a small digital HD camcorder from cannon. It will most likely be all self filming since I almost always hunt alone. Not sure what I will do with the footage.
