I finally got to shoot the MR6 a couple weeks ago and love it. The problem is the they make the MR6 or 7 anymore and I have not had the opportunity to shoot the MR5. I really want to shoot one to see how it shoots. I have seen both sides of the spectrum with people and their reviews on them but I guess you will get that with most anything. I know the monster series bows are heavier which I honestly don't mine. The Mr6 really held well in my hand and was really really smooth at 70lbs and it was very steady.

I am assuming the MR5 will be similar with the exception of the 5 inch brace height. I shoot a martin now and have been bow hunting for 8 years now so I have shot quite a bit.

Let me know if anyone or you specifically hunt with the MR5 or know someone well that hunts with it and let me know what they think about it!

    I appreciate it,

    Pat

The only issue I had with it is the cam system. I'm not a fan of the AVS Cam system. It seems you spend more time tinkering with it to get it perfect than you do actually shooting the bow. And forget it if you want to change the strings and cables, its a 5 piece set and costs around $200. When it was dialed in right it was a nice shooter for sure, but I ended up going to something that was more low maintenance.

I just got the MR6 and I love it. Odds are it will be in my hand my first trip out rather than my Helim. I don't have any experience with the MR5, but I can't imagine that it will be too different than the MR6. One note of warning, fletching and wrist straps may be a little bit of an issue. I had 4" flex fletch put on some of my arrows, and they clear fine on my Helim, but with my MR6 the fletching is touching the drop-away when the bow is at rest, and I had to tighten down my wrist strap some so it didn't hit the cables.
