Really simple. We know that azithromycin is effect in treating secondary bacterial infections at clinical doses. You would not forgo using a proven drug for the treatment and preventive secondary infection to just "hope " hydroxchloroquine may work especially since from the very start there wasn't been any clinical studies showing that it had positive effects. In other words even a half asses Dr isnt going to not prescribe azithromycin. The idea is to NOT get bacterial pneumonia and die.
