Had the second in person PTA meeting in two years tonight. As my wife and I were walking out to the parking lot, we listened to two moms complaining about how they had followed all the precautions; masking everywhere, vaccination and boosters for their husbands and kids yet everyone still got COVID. One of the ladies was complaining about how sick her husband got and that she made her kids double mask in their HOME while the husband was sick and everyone still got it. They still sounded confused and couldn’t believe mask mandates were being struck down in court. Meanwhile, my wife and I are trying not to laugh hysterically while overhearing this conversation. We are all purebloods, I only where a mask at work sometimes because I work in a hospital, kids quit wearing them at school a couple of months ago, everywhere else we have been maskless for almost a year. My wife had flu-like symptoms for three days when she tested positive. Myself and our three boys never had symptoms despite a positive test. I can’t believe people are still buying the masking BS.
