Oh there would be a lot of that my friend. The way 2022 has started off, sarcasm is the only thing that is keeping me sane and not raging all the time. So far 3 people who I highly respected and cherished, have died. I am watching the last of that generation vanish. Really is quite sad. Now I am actaully " the old generation ". Yea !!!
Well, this is shaping up to be a fun week here in the People's Republic of Illinois. Friday evening a judge issued a temporary restraining order against mask mandates and quarantine periods for students. The class-action portion of the suit was dropped, which meant the TRO does not apply to all students in all districts. Just the students explicitly named in the suit and the 140 or so districts that were named. The kicker is that legal precedent has now been set. If a school district attempts to enforce masking or quarantining, they are in violation of the student's due process rights under our state law. JB and his crew and working diligently to try and appeal the decision in hopes of getting it overturned. But until then, it's been made abundantly clear that masks and quarantines are not allowed in schools. This happened on Friday night, giving all school districts the entire weekend to come up with a response and a plan for moving forward. Many of them made the correct decision to make masks optional in light of the ruling. Some, including our district, doubled down and decided to keep forcing masks - much to the dismay of students and parents alike. As expected, a multitude of parents threatened legal action against out District for this decision. So much that they elected to shut the entire district down today while they figure out what to do. IMO this is a complete failure of our leadership. They had all weekend to figure out how to respond, and they elected to roll the dice and call people's bluff. And now here we sit - kids are at home, parents are pissed on both sides, and nobody knows what's next. Viva la resistance.
masks or jabs, it dosnt matter, it always should be up to the individual ... if one wants to look like a fool driving around with a mask on and the only person in the vehicle is the driver with that mask on, have at it .... I'll be the one at the stop light pointing at you laughing my ass off .... btw, masks DO NOT work at stopping the CCP virus(s) and even may do harm to the wearer (multiple studies show this, not to mention what the wearing does to the kids and their learning and behavior issues) ....

The complete failure of leadership has been going on for the last two years. People are finally pissed off enough about it because the things that were said and promised by leadership were mostly lies while “leadership” broke the rules they placed on the general population. The D’s know at this point they are in an uphill battle for re-election and know that they are up a creek unless some sort of normalcy starts to happen. The pandemic is endemic now and they need to really make it look like they are the hero’s and get the fearing public out to vote for them in November. Elected officials will put the mask mandates on the local school board’s shoulders in the next 4-8 weeks and the school boards that believed that masks were the right thing because what the politicians promoted will now be left to take the brunt of the storm if they don’t immediately drop masks.
run for the school board. I personally know at least one guy and his wife in your district that would vote for you. your platform could be no masks, Wild Turkey Tuesdays and a district-wide school holiday the Monday after Opening Day. ...that, or let me know when you want to start a Freedom Convoy.
whoawhoawhoa... so doctor lady, what you're saying is a tiny dead fragment of the spike protein from the actual virus which can't actually make me sick is going to cause my immune system to produce a memory response so that when I get exposed to a virus which I've already had and was already sick from is going to protect me to point that I will be considered 'vaccinated'; but my being exposed to and actually infected by said actual virus won't cause my immune system to produce an immune response equal or more effective than said dead inert viral protein spike? You may be correct at the micro-local level in purple areas; but I can say for a fact - the *dministration is not backing down one bit. They are already filing multiple appeals on each of the lawsuits they just got handed TROs on - these are cases that haven't even been fully heard at the Circuit level yet. All the the *dmin was ordered to do was take an interim pause on implementing the EOs while the cases are heard; and they can't even take that temporary stop sign laying down. They had some appeals filed within 1-2 business days of the TROs being announced. They do not stop advancing against freedom. Ever. They are effing Terminators.
I shouldn't be running for any sort of elected position. Ever. So after declaring an "emergency" day yesterday and shutting down the 6th largest district in the state and leaving 20,000+ students at home, our fearless leaders came to the decision to go all-in on mask mandates. So we're back in class today, masks on. Well, except when you're talking and everyone pulls them down anyways. Teachers included. My guess is that they are waiting on the outcome of the governor's appeal, which we are supposed to have in the next 10 days. Even if parents file lawsuits today, we all know nothing is going to happen quickly. So they will ride out the next 2 weeks and see what happens. If the TRO is upheld, they will pretty much be forced to go mask optional. If JB and crew win their appeal and the TRO is suspended, we're right back to where we were at. I may disagree with the decision, but I can understand why they are doing what they are doing. If the TRO is upheld things are going to get very saucy down in Chi-town. The collective bargaining agreement between CPS and the teacher's union states teachers will only provide in-person education if students are wearing masks. That's a hell of a contract when two parties agree to something a 3rd party must do without their representation or consent.
I'd say taxation without representation; but the percentage of parents with kids in CPS that are actual net taxpayers is probably something south of 5%. Certainly less than 10%. When you are dependent on the Government for everything, including the roof over your head, the food in your fridge, babysitting and feeding your kids at least 10 hours and 2 meals per day, you do what the Government says. Including keep voting for the insane racist POSes that enslaved you in the first place. Especially that part.
Was listening to 560's Dan and Amy this AM, a listener with kids in Arlington Heights schools called in and spoke of the absolute insanity that happened there yesterday, kids without masks being prevented from going inside, then scores of kids wore masks to get inside then began to take them off en mass, then teachers were herding and locking the maskless into the gym, parents getting texts from their IMPRISONED kids and coming back to the school to raise hell, cops getting called, and ultimately classes were canceled for the rest of the day and through today. I know some people here think I can't comment b/c I only have hypothetical kids, but IF I had kids I would be down there with about 100+ like minded people in the biggest vehicle I was licensed to drive, surrounding the school and honking my fool head off. ...but I don't have kids. Or that many friends for that matter. Hypothetically.
