I tried to imagine if/how this pandemic would be different if Obamacare had achieved their dream of Nationalized Healthcare... I also don't envy the SCOTUS...even if I think some of them are jerks.
Joe is not having a very good week, his approval is down to 33% the Supreme Court just kicked him in the nuts.
Guess Walmart is looking like a great place of employment now.....this is ridiculous. Way to kill the EMS field even more, Jackwads.
With that being said, I wonder what it will do to our volunteer services. We are being told to go to certain facilities our crews need to be vaccinated....now are they going to mandate VOLUNTEERS to do the same? If so, so long private volunteer ambulance services, too!
I know of 2 VFD members 1 in Upsala, 1 in St Joseph MN both died of covid that they were exposed to during a call.
I have seen some articles in the Firehouse Magazine stating that from other states, too. That is on the patient, too. Because 75% of the time they fail to tell the dispatchers the truth.
The U.S. Supreme Court on Thursday blocked President Joe Biden's pandemic-related vaccination-or-testing mandate for large businesses at a time of escalating COVID-19 infections while allowing his administration to enforce its separate vaccine requirement for healthcare facilities.
Fire/Rescue/Cops/Nurses/Doctors are exposed on the job every single day. There is no way to avoid it. And many times, multiple times a day.
Had it been upheld is that what starts the civil war? Only somewhat kidding, people are getting fed up.
Friend of mine was admitted to the hospital a week or so ago, non covid. 1 visitor, his wife. They went to transfer him to a rehab, covid positive... His wife is negative. Imho, staff or false positive.
We are going to have close to 1 million positives a day coming soon. I guess that herd immunity bs theory will be tested.
It's not BS, the question is how many deaths are acceptable to get there? Being Omicron is not as deadly, we are going to find out. I got to speak directly to front-line workers today, My wife while her symptoms are gone nearly passed out at work today. Fatigue, shortness of breath, and light-headedness when she walked. We ended up at the ER a lovely place, it was not full, busy for sure. Doc stated it's more than likely she had COVID. They took an x-ray of her chest and lungs clear, but the heart is now abnormally shaped. We see the cardiologist next week.
