Between traveling thru airports and hotels, my wife being at a school every day I am kinda shocked I have not been bit.
"Pfizer said last week that a booster dose of its COVID-19 vaccine may offer important protection against the new omicron variant even though the initial two doses appear significantly less effective. Pfizer and its partner BioNTech said that while two doses may not be protective enough to prevent infection, lab tests showed a booster increased by 25-fold people's levels of virus-fighting antibodies. Blood samples taken a month after a booster showed people harbored levels of omicron-neutralizing antibodies that were similar to amounts proven protective against earlier variants after two doses." I am just going to get an IV drip of this stuff, looks like the booster beef's up the antibodies
Key word: "may" By far the most annoying thing during all of this pandemic reporting has been the twisting and misrepresentation of data using obscure figures designed to elicit a predetermined response. "Increased by 25-fold" sounds amazing! Unless you find out your level of protection from the first two jabs is pretty much non-existent. A 25x increase of nothing isn't all that great. Talk to us in 6 months and we'll see what those look like. A month doesn't tell you jack squat. Probably beefs up the side effects as well.
That would be moderna which is recommending a double dose booster. I can only speak for me, I had a sore arm, that's it
keep in mind I am not confirmed + yet. It is possible I got the regular flu. (Not likely, everyone around me has tested +.) And I am a pureblood. Of those following along here, 0317 and I might be the last 2 on that list. Mrs. Noodles relapsed overnight, she's feeling like crap. I checked her 02, she's still in the 90s so there's no immediate concern. Waiting to get into a monoclonal center still; other than that her meds should arrive tomorrow.
My 3 year old had the rona for 48 hours. His positive flu test was accidentally sent to the health department as a covid test and shut down the daycare class for 2 days. Even after the county health department cleared everything, the state health department was still calling us to quarantine him. Giant clusterfail!
Everyone in my daughters house got covid. We think my grandson had it but was not tested. That was at Thanksgiving time. He has been coughing and is really congested with crackles. Still waiting to hear from my daughter about the covid test. He has been on nebulizer treatments and appears to be doing better. He's is back at opening the fridge and all the cabinets he can get into.
as Ive said, the regular 'flu' IS going around, I now know of 5 who had it, all tested negative for the CCP virus .... The data out of South Africa, after five weeks of Omicron spread, suggest that Omicron should be a cause for celebration, not fear. Its symptoms are mild to non-existent in the majority of the infected, especially the vaccinated; hospitalization rates are over nine times lower than for previous Covid strains; deaths are negligible. That assessment will only be confirmed as the US and other western countries gather their own data on Omicron. inside the OMIGODweareallgonnadie fear factory https://spectatorworld.com/topic/inside-omicron-variant-fear-factory-new-york-covid/
Myself, too! Which I am surprised considering my field of work. With that being said - my doctor still feels okay with my concerns due to past history. My job is still secured being unvaccinated at this point. So continuing on with life.
CS kicks me in the balls initially but goes away quick. Pepper gel/spray doesn't bother me that much, just wheezy for a bit and it doesn't feel good in the eyes but I can function. But you're right that first shower after pepper; it is something to behold. Especially as it runs downwards.
