Pretty sure the laws include some provisions for paid leave around C19... I don't know the scope (e.g. Quarantine, testing, etc). Many of my Clients and folks in our company, can and do work remote... With folks often still working even while sick. Granted, those jobs that require coming into a workplace may have very different needs /policies. If the law covers leaves, folks won't be replaced. People are leaving the Corp workforces in droves (retirement or exploring entrepreneurship)...there is a lot of demand, but companies are also using this as a bit of an opportunity to restructure (shudder lines of business not core to their operations, contractor, outsource, etc) and modernize.
My "quarantine" ended last week Friday. Yesterday I was in Michigan for a work meeting and today is my first official day back in the office. I already miss working from home! Everyone in my house got it and we all tested negative as of last night, so we appear to be in the clear with our natural "boosters". Interestingly enough, the severity of symptoms directly correlated to age. My wife got hit the worst. She's 42 and was laid out for 2-3 days with fever, body aches, headache, and sinus pressure. She got vaccinated in April. I'm 41 and it slowed me down a bit, but never stopped me completely. No fever, very minor body aches one day, mostly sinus pressure, cough, and some breathing issues compounded by the fact that I have asthma. I'm the only one who got prescription meds - prednisone and a Z pack. I worked from home and went hunting through the entire thing. I was also vaccinated in April. 9-year-old ran a pretty high fever for 2 days and developed a cough for 4-5 days. 7 year old had a fever for about a day and a half along with a headache. 5 year old ran a very low-grade fever for a few hours one day. Also, my wife and daughter can't taste or smell anything. The males of the house are all good in that department.
It would be great if: Construction, superintendents and foreman, manufacturing, health care, farm workers, drivers, maintenance, mechanics, security, warehouse..etc,etc... could work at home remotely. These are also the types of jobs that are somewhat easier to replace. So I stand by what I am predicting. They do not even have to fire people, just hassle them out them out the door.
So the 1 in 5000 stat that Joe touted 2 months ago... either you and your wife are unbelievably unlucky like 0.02% chance, or the vaccine statistics are completely made up... Glad you are all fine.
According to MN Dept of health last week in Minnesota 68 fully vaccinated people died of covid, 55 unvaccinated people died as well.
You guys want to give me a run down of vaccinated symptoms. 3 days I've woke from a tossing turning half awake night with a pressure head ache, feeling like someone repeatedly ran me through a wringer washer. Dry cough, sweats and chills. I have so far chalked it up to yearly being run down from hunting and gardening..though now this whole joint muscle aches has me wondering. The cough could be sinus drainage at night. Tired...age
Had a driver call off with COVID symptom. I asked, are you sure it's not just allergies? Has a fever, so unfortunately had to tell him to stay home. He is going for a rapid test today, so hopefully get results. We're already short staffed - so I'd much prefer him just have a 24 hour bug then ten days of crap.
Just learned that if you call covid the china virus that is considered a racial slur. How pathetic is that?
the Wuhan Virus, Chinese Virus, Fauchi Flu, among other terms, call it what ever one wants ... I will not be woke-ified
Daughter confirmed and wife and I now have fevers and coughs, little nauseous. Kiddo just lost smell, but feels 90% In Venatione Veritas
Feel better soon Nausea too huh?....now I'm really wondering. I have to be one foot in the grave to get a fever, though my temp has always run low.
So HAD an employee who's last day was supposed to be Friday, I just noticed he was wearing a mask I asked what the deal was. He told me he has covid symptoms. Told him to grab his things and leave the building, do not come back.
Is it not normal to be wearing a mask at work in MN? Here in IL we haven't been able to take them off since March 2020.
