Yup. Get a crap ton of vaccines in basic and more if you deploy to some place outside the US. Nothing new there. It was just a matter of time before they mandated the Covid vac.
If you get a battery back up, check the float rod on the battery backup every once in a while. If you have any crap floating in the water, it can stick to the float rod and prevent it from activation the pump. As that pump sits higher in the crock, you have less reaction time should it stick. And as most of them use a marine battery, unplug the thing from the charger during dry periods. Marine batteries don't last long when constantly charged.
I had a battery backup which are good but batteries go bad and need replaced. This design eliminates the battery as a possible failure. As long as you have water pressure in your house you are in business.
One of my good friends is an RN and sent me an alarming picture of an email she received this morning. Not sure if it was from her manager or from someone higher up at the hospital, but they sent an email to every employee who isn't currently vaccinated basically calling them out to get the shot. Now, this wouldn't be a problem for me if this was a direct email between me and my manager, etc. No. They sent it to the entire group so everyone could see who is not vaccinated. I told her if I was in her shoes I would be raising hell about it.

who are "they"? but yes, UK had an initial surge of "the delta variant" (they aren't really testing for it, they are testing a sample and extrapolating from that) had a few week surge and then the rates plummeted. But They are already on to the new Lambda, Kappa, Korksmoker variants, so we got that to look forward to.
