It seems fairly obvious what's going on here. Vaccination rates have plateaued and they're looking for ways to get more people to get their shots. Since many folks said they didn't see the point of getting vaccinated if they still had to wear masks, this is the play. Give people an incentive to get vaccinated by telling them they don't have to do something they shouldn't have had to do in the first place. It won't work for everyone, but I promise you we'll see a reported increase in vaccinations in the next few days or weeks.

What if my doctor tells me I don't need it or have a condition that may cause issues with the shot? I have no access to civilization? What happened to HIPPA? Or any effing privacy for that matter. Pretty soon you'll have to go on record with who you voted for to get rations. God forbid you don't have you vaccination papers and voted the wrong way. They missed that before Trump left office, and Biden screwed it up even further. Listen to one of Biden's comments today on the maskless call. He said, paraphrasing a bit, "if you got the shots you can go maskless, you've earned that right". Umm when was mask wearing or not mask wearing a privilege? Why is getting a shot or two making it a right? Poor choice of wording IMO. Before today, anyone who has been vaccinated in the political left realm has shown fear and disgust for anyone who has not been vaccinated. The emphasis from the beginning of the EUA should have been "I've gotten my shot(s) and am mask free, get yours today" regardless of what sector of the population was deemed qualified or most at risk. Instead you have things like, just because you get the vaccine does not mean you cannot contract it or spread it, it does not mean you can stop wearing a mask, it does not mean you can have contact with another, it does not mean anything will change.... No one has ever touted the vaccine, they always questioned it or stated why it alone was not enough. I think this new switch up backfires and many people see it as a blackmail scenario, "you'll get the vaccine or else...." Seriously, if you have been vaccinated, why should you care about someone who has not been? Answer right now is because the government and special interest agencies have told you to be. Real answer should be just as it is for the Small Pox and other vaccines, don't worry about them, you're immune and have no risk of contraction. My life has not changed one iota since the first US case was announced in January of 2020, to the point of my second shot April 2nd, 2021 or the April 16th, 2021 date of being fully vaccinated. Not even with today's announcement.
