    Maybe.

But its more from a constitution perspective and a free market capitalism POV...

No no that isnt botching. That was him trying to not throw the public into a crazed herd mentality panic.
He tried and the main stream media became the lead ram and ran the idiots off the cliff ,literally stripping all store shelves on the way. On top of that he isn't wrong . It will go away, it actually isn't that bad ACROSS the country. Most are in NYC area. and the west coast. You call out his words and not what he's done. Do you work at CNN, ABC, NBC, CBS?
You know I hate Cuomo but listen to him and he makes some sense. Until he talks of the ventilators. Whether the defence act or not it still takes TIME,the same time, to retool and produce them. So take what they have to give you and use the medications you have now to avoid ventilators. We are the test case and He had best listen to Trump and immediately start using the malaria / anti virus regimen on everyone ill. FDA be damned in this case.

    PS.
Go through your TIME LINE there. AT THE TIME those words were correct . In an evolving, changing situation, you can not apply the words spoken in the past to what's occurring in the presence.

Since 2010 the CDC estimates the flu kills 12,000 to 60,000 Americans a year.
One of the basics of the practice of medicine is don’t order a test unless it’s going to change your management of the patient.

I got curious as to what the next days headlines were for each of those, wemt with NY Times as it was easiest. Not making a point, was curious to see what the anti-Trump media focused on.

By the headlines today, we are where China was on Feb 14th. Begging for masks...

My wife has psoriatic arthritis and takes hydroquinone twice daily. Upon hearing Trump tout its effectiveness she immediately called the doctor and had a three month prescription filled. I picked it up yesterday. Thankfully we have a pharmacist who knows exactly how much this means to my wife's mobility and quality of life.

There it is, look at his actions. He really isn't a public speaker, the fact he rambles shows that. This said, time to tell the American people they need to engage their brains as they do in dealing with spouses, kids, and any other people they converse with. We all have to manuever at times through the words we hear and the meanings behind them . We do this without being critical of the people we listen to. Give this country's leader who's under more pressure the past 4 years than Any one of us could understand, that courtesy. You don't owe it to him as much as you owe it to yourself.

Not being a good public speaker is one thing, lying is another. Giving out wrong information has nothing to do with being a good public speaker.

So if he was a more polished liar you would not have an issue with him?

Germ you wield that word liar like a sword, or a main stream media talking point.
Go back to YOUR time line there. Again at the TIME those were not lies. They were facts at the TIME mixed with his hopeful optimism. Should he have had that much hope? Well 20/20 vision would say no. I haven't had 20/ 20 vision in years so I can't say he shouldn't have. This goes to Americans engaging their brains in all this.

We can spin numbers anyway we want when adding the extraneous info. But math is math. We have a know number (yes confirmed) and a defined subset of the number-deaths. Those are the only numbers that can be used. That is real. The rest is conjecture that serves no purpose in doing the math. That is the world I live in. I make 100 parts and 5 are deemed scrap. I have a scrap rate of 5%.

Now, do I believe the numbers from China? Hell no nor anywhere else where there system is overwhelmed. Can throw Italy in there as well.

When this is all said and done, the "experts" will create a model that will have a substantially lower rate of death-just because their numbers are estimates. There is just no way to capture every single case. Just like there is no way to capture every flu case death. Again, it's based on a model.

Comparisons between CV at this point and the flu (which has more than 100 years of information to back up the model) should not be made.

People are gaming this whole quarantine. Here at work finding out who the lazy people are in a hurry.

There's a min. of 8 people here who are on self quarantine, not because they are sick, but because they are lazy people who called off all the time before this but are now taking advantage of it. I hope they are not able to collect unemployment for this, I known without a doubt it's what they are doing.

One guy was set to come back today. Had a scratchiness in his throat, as did I, but I was able to ascertain it was due to the doors being propped open 2 days in a row with low 40's temps. He called off today, out another 2 weeks.

Another guy who was pissed that we werr considered essential, machine parts for mining, aerospace, oil industry, DOD etc., and would not be shutting down for the stay at home order. Came in yesterday and miraculously had his work boots stolen over the weekend. Not back again today and likely won'y be this week. He also put in a "just in case" timenoff request last Wed. for Thurs. if he wasn't feeling good. Never came in.

They take no consideration into what would happen if the economy tanks completely, they just don't want to work and now have their scapegoat. Bet it is happening everywhere.

End rant that is not in the rant thread.

Good thing Game Stop considered themselves essential business here. Makes sense now.

Actually Gamers have been preparing for self quarantine their entire lives
