Man that sounds like me before all this crud hit the fan...Christmas eve last year right up to March....I wonder......
What I fail to understand is if the masks have ANY effectivity why is a mask not taken into any consideration when considering exposure. I can see it not eliminating exposure completely but wouldn't it at least lengthen the time needed for one to meet exposure guidelines? The whole 15 minutes <6'..... those exposure definitions take no consideration of a mask.
I ask the same question to Michigans Health Department and got zero response. I was asking because 6 kids were quarantined after the practice that we had a player with Covid attend. 30 kids in the gym, only the kids in his group were quarantined. I have yet to get a response. I wanted to know what is magical about 15 mins, compared to 14, compared to 30+ kids in the same gym and 6 in his group get quarantined.
Nothing magical about it, just a one size fits most rule that the general public can understand and comply with if they choose to. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Think of it like legal shooting light, sure there are rules posted up by the state, but... Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
You laugh but you have no idea how many animal care takers and pet shop owners use pet meds. I worked for two different pet shops, around farms and a kennel. It was common place.
I seem to be bad luck at this Covid crap. My secretary watched her 6th grade grandson all weekend and stayed in his home so his parents could get away. The school called this morning and asked that he be picked up because he was not feeling well. She went and got him to help out. His mother (secretary's daugher) then took him to the clinic for the immediate test. Just got back a positive result. So, I sent my secretary home to quarantine. She is a high-risk person. Diabetes among other things. Our little town is getting overwhelmed with Covid. The vaccine can not get here soon enough! We live in a rural mid-west community that thought this whole illness was a made up conspiracy to control our lives. Now, we have fewer lives to control. It is like wildfire here because social distancing and all other precautions have been largely ignored. I was guilty. Maybe the CDC actually knows a little bit about how to prevent the spread. ???? On a side note, my 51 year old buddy that has Covid was getting worse over the weekend. Even after having the transfusion. I sent him a text at 8:30 am to check in and still have not gotten a response. That is highly unusual and has me really worried.
My wife does contact tracing for our county. She just told me the other day that she had a case of reinfection. This person told my wife that the second time the symptoms were not as bad as the first round. From what the wife said, sounded like that person had much the same symptoms as you. Adding: her first infection was like fletches.
Great point. But, we have no idea how many mutations this crap will end up with either. Let's hope a single vaccine is good to cover all. But, just like the flu, we may only be covering the strains we expect to be most prevalent each season. I get the flu shot every year and have since my mother-in-law was diagnosed with cancer a few years ago. But, I still have caught the flu.
Today, I had to fill out a survey at work (I work at a med school) regarding my thoughts on a vaccine and its availability to employees. Personally, I am going to put off getting the vaccine for the time being. I am still young and very healthy. Priority for the vaccine needs to go to the most vulnerable. I will take my chances until I am confident that everyone who is at greater risk than me has had a chance to get the vaccine if they choose. I also have some concerns about long term side effects of a vaccine that has been produced this quickly and without the long term studies that would normally occur during the vaccine approval process. I realize some people cannot and should not have to wait. But, I will. Personally, I cannot stand employer mandated vaccines, even for the flu. My body, my health, my choice. Once everyone who is more vulnerable than me has had a chance, and, more is known about long term effects, I will consider it.
Yup. The social distance magic 6', 15 monte thing is nothing more than a rule of thumb. If you were in the military, worked in/with nukes, hazmat or work in hvac you would want to think about concentration/ppm, time/distance or air exchange as other important factors, in addition to personal factors (propensity, conditions, sanitary practices) that aren't as well known, more variable in nature or as confounds.
I see your point and respect your choices. Even though you are healthy and at low risk, the only thing that you might want to consider is that if you get it or come in contact with it and potentially spread it to other people before you even know that you have it.
Yup. At least 7 strains so far (in about 1 years time). I was reading some European paper that indicated some mutations may not be as responsive to the mrna vaccine that the first 3 (Pfizer, moderna and AZ) target (spike protein).
So, we have yet another data point that could be useful. How does one strain compare to the others with regard to death and all the other non-lethal symptoms. I doubt our current testing identifies the strain. And would probably cost too much for someone to under take that testing.
I have considered that. Even considering that, it will be March or later before I have the chance to take it. I do not work in patient care, so I am low priority to have it.
Had a funny thought If ivermectin worked as well as that group of doctors claimed, and if I had the ability to slip in a couple tablets per pound of coffee beans that Dunkin’ Donuts uses, I could have Corona wrapped up within the month. Atleast in the New England states. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I know it is probably in poor taste but oh well. 2020 is making me do it. Tomorrow after our first 200k vaccines take effect...
