I texted my friend that lives in California, I pick him up at the airport in Minneapolis and we drive up to Wisconsin deer camp. I let him know that I would be unable to pick him up and go to deer camp. I will miss the folks at camp but there is no way in hell I am going to Wisconsin and be in close proximity in the deer camp. The reason why I am not going is going to spend the day with grandpa today.
I heard some talk on the radio last week. The person said there was a shame that goes with getting covid, Like they were living dirty to get it. I will admit I stay away from anyone under 30 at work the youngsters are so caviler about social distancing. I have made it this long I am going to be pissed if I get it.
Went to get tested today, got there at 12:36pm and cones were across the entrance closing it off. Drove around the block and seen the sign for hours of operation, closes at 5pm M-F and noon on Saturdays, closed on Sunday. apparently Covid has bankers hours. So sat a stop sign and googled locations and found one on the way back home at a Walgreens. Drove past an old abandoned Walgreens and couldn't figure out how to enter so once again drove around the block to come up on it from opposite side, one way streets. Found the entrance and seen 2 cars in line so pull in, big sign says must have appointment and working windows to be tested. Gave up at that point, I'm not jumping through a hundred hoops to get a test on a precautionary basis. I didn't realize it was so difficult still. Oh well, I'm not having any symptoms. Tried to do what I felt was the best thing.
Lost my sense of taste and smell this morning. Mostly my smell. I could taste the toothpaste a bit, but couldn't smell the soap I was using at all. Quite a feeling.
I hope that is the worst you get, I hope for a quick recovery. From what I have read and tried to keep upon. COVID today is more infectious, but not as bad. Looking at the numbers going up and low hospitalizations that seems to be what is happening
that's normal viral evolution. Spread easier and be less deadly. On the political side of this, now the WHO is begging countries to not use widespread lockdowns as a strategy to stem the infection rate. Too much collateral damage to socioeconomic norms- increased poverty, depression, drug abuse, and even risk of starvation in developing countries...Oh, and there is zero evidence to indicate lockdowns work to slow the infection rate at all. Of course the American media is completely ignoring this. So are Trump and the Republicans wrong to "deny the science" now; or were they wrong to "deny the science" 2 months ago? 6 months ago?
Pretty much everyone blew it, deny the sciences 6 months ago was more of a gamble, nobody knew. Today we know more and shutting down is a bad idea, it's why I am not voting for Biden, and for Trump, look I think the guy is an idiot, but he's the idiot with the best plan going forward. Everyone wants to do something based on what the other guy is doing, so if Trump wanted to shut down most of the left would want to open back up and vice versa. Sometimes I just throw a comment out to see how you guys say. Hydroxy and the witch Doctor was all the rage for Trump until he got COVID and then what science did Trump listens to? VS sig states it all, someone please just state the damn truth.
while my reply was to you the last question posed was more for open discussion. Other than media malfeasance I cannot for the life of my think why anyone would think Joemala would "handle the virus" any better than the current administration...especially since their plan is to "follow the scientists" and Lockdown Forever- which are now diametrically opposed concepts. The O'Biden administration's mishandling of the swine flu was abhorrent with over 60 million cases in the US. They were just lucky it wasn't that deadly. As far as HCQ...it works for a lot of people when administered early in combination with zinc and a steroid. Some it doesn't. My mother got C-19 (mild case) and my father who is on HCQ for his RA never got it. He now has antibodies but never tested positive. Anyway, Trump's case pretty much shows he's willing to take a chance and "listen to scientists." Apparently the doctors offered Trump a regiment of not-currently-FDA approved Regeneron antibody therapy. It's experimental. He took it, and apparently it worked. You could say it was for self-preservation; but for the entirety of his administration (prior to C-19) he has been at the forefront in advocating for the streamlined development, approval, access, and distribution of medication.. It's actually been one of the cornerstones of not only his administration but since his original campaign. It was pretty obviously way overstated, but original estimates were that 5 million+ Americans would die from C-19. Almost a year after it was first discovered, we are now at just over 200k and that is pretty clearly overstated as well. So the Trump administration is well within reason to note that due to their efforts, the actual death toll is 4% of what "the scientists" feared. Sure that's spin, but spin goes both directions. You can bet Democrats would be doing that if roles were reversed and The Media would be lauding them as saints for 'saving 4.8 million American lives'. But media malfeasance aside, the Administration's communication on this topic has been atrocious, and Trump is part of that problem. Trump is kind of a boob a lot of the time and even a rambling boob some of the time. Even I cringe when I hear him speak at times and I love the dude. But if I were his comms director I would start and end every single campaign event and presser with "we saved millions of American's lives, and vaccines and treatments are on their way at an unprecedented pace." The guy gets results. I just wish the messaging was better.
so the day after Trump names both Eli Lilly and Johnsen and Johnsen's 'very promising' vaccine trials both companies "pause" testing... Like that's a coincidence. Two companies that Trump has vowed to force into price controls.
if anyone watched Trump's speech in PA tonight; its almost as if DJT Jr. read this post and sent it on to Daddy. Hm.
Rallie's Bar near St Cloud got caught by a department of health worker. Say an employee not wearing a mask. The state immediately shut the restaurant down for 72 hours.
Rollies redneck's longneck's and apparently now there is a little neck. I wonder if the MN department of health could sift through the peanut shells on the floor there and detect how many people had covid there.
It is one of those places that looks like a fun place, but the last place I want to be is in a large crowded bar, even before covid.
I can't even imagine... Considering they follow 0 of the states guidelines and 99.9% of their patrons are against wearing a mask. The posts about it on social media are comical. "If you're scared about me not wearing a mask, then stay home." is the only argument I see. While it's true, an entire establishment should not operate that way. They should be willing and able to serve any and all patrons no matter their thoughts on the mask rule.
My wife just informed me that one of my sons teacher is out waiting for test results. If the teacher tests positive, both of my older boys will be doing online school from home for two weeks. I do not think that it will affect me at work unless one of my kids tests positive, or, I start having symptoms and decide to get tested.
Still waiting for my c-19 test results. I’ve had every single symptom at one point or another, except shortness of breath. Very slight cough, not bad at all. Fever every single day, started in the high 99’s, by day 3 it was staying more in the mid 100’s, Monday it was 101 all freaking day. First symptoms started last Thursday, lost taste and smell by Saturday morning and that prompted me to get a test. Lots of naps. Can’t sleep good at night because I wake up soaked multiple times a night. Still have zero taste or smell. 7 days straight of having a fever is getting old. Feel quite a bit better today, fever was gone this morning but is now 100 again. If this isn’t covid than I have a heck of a flu.
