I don’t think you can really consider UNC Chapel Hill to be liberal anymore.... the University of Venezuela, Chapel Hill campus is a more accurate description these.
He lost me when he started hating on Krispy Kreme - they’re not that bad for you as long as you buy them while the hot light is on and don’t eat more than one box on the drive home. Also, what’s his big deal with diabetes. Didn’t the bartender from Walker Texas Ranger discover the cure for that like 10 years ago?
Crazy idea here... If states have the latitude for schooling, and it seems most schools are now virtual...aren't/couldn't school districts kinda obsolete?
Sounds like MacGiver...and best case type 2 only. Yeah, I know you were kidding, but with a kid that had type 1 diabetes, the topic hits home, so to speak... Though a bionic pancreas is close to market ready, for type 1... Which is better than a pump and cgm. And type 2, is greatly self-induced and somewhat cureable...but you actually have to work (exercise, diet, monitor)... So...
My father worked on his health for about 18 months after being diagnosed with type 2. His doctors officially took type 2 off of his medical record.
We just got word yesterday. School will start a week late (8/31), but for the time being there will be full attendance of students to all levels of local schools here. A "green" start. Masks highly recommended, but not mandatory. They have a contingency plan in place, "yellow", for 50% in person attendance that will alternate amongst all kids, with the off kids doing online learning. Then a "red" plan, where all kids would do online learning from home. The usual social media arguments ensued of course.
Take a hit from a vape pen, put you mask on and exhale normally, then try to explain to me how a mask is so effective.
I have seen a lot of people using the pissed pants analogy for mask wearing. if no one has pants on and they start peeing, they pee all over everyone. BUT if everyone has pants on and you start peeing you only pee on yourself. People using the pissing your pants analogy for wearing a mask is not very logical because the virus is not dispersed in a stream of water out of peoples mouths. More logical would be, if I crap my pants even with a person 6 feet away even if they have a mask on still smells it. Maybe you don't get crapped on, but the airborne particles of the smell still travel.
Just finished reading a summery of a study done in 2015 in the Journal of the Royal Society of Medicine. The study came to the conclusion that there is zero evidence that a surgeon wearing a mask in the operating theatre is protected from getting a disease from a patient nor is the patient protected by the mask the surgeon is wearing.
Well, my daughter's school is going on line for the semester, aims they have 1.5% of the students in quarantine.
You mean to say that the frat boys and sorority sisters are having trouble social distancing? If only someone could have predicted this.
