Why the hell is everyone so up in arms about wearing a mask into a store? Because they're being forced to? Is that it? Someone tells you that you have to do something and we automatically want to fight it for no good reason? Sounds like my kids when I tell them they need to take a shower or brush their teeth. Bunch of spoiled, whiny, crybabies talking about their "freedom". Give me a damn break. Nevermind the fact that we're being forced to wear shoes, pants and shirts already. The mask is just too much to handle! I must have missed the part in the constitution where it guaranteed your right to not wear a mask into a store. Maybe someone can point that out for me. I wish people would put half as much energy into fighting for things that actually matter as they do into stupid crap like not wanting to wear a mask or tearing down a statue of Columbus.
My biggest issue with the mandated mask is that the Gov of Minnesota is using a blanket approach statewide based on the 14, 835 people in Hennepin county that tested positive, not taking the people of rural Minnesota in to account. Lake of the Woods county has not had a single covid case yet based on what is happening in the Cities they are required to wear a mask. As far as the Columbus statue. Gov Walz said he knew in a press conference 6 hours before the statue was torn down. He gave the order to stand down and allow the statue to be torn down. What kind of leadership is that?
I've never said I won't wear a mask when/where required. I do and have, but if given the choice I choose not to. I'm rarely out in public so if a statewide mandate was made it still wouldn't have much effect on me. I'm not as gung ho as 0317 on anti mask. I have to go in tomorrow afrernoon to meet with a surgeon, was joking with a coworker that had surgery 2 1/2 months ago. Said if it doesn't qualify for Aflac I'd just have them swab me while I'm knocked out. He then informed me I have to get tested before the surgery would be allowed. So I'll be getting the old brain stab in the near short term. Just hoping it comes up negative so I don't have to get a second or third one
Hopefully Florida & Texas use the resources the Federal Government supplies, instead of sending the sick into nursing homes like some states Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
One of our local gas station employees was just complaining about her employer wanting her to wear a mask her entire shift. We have 401 total positives and 9 deaths in our county as of today. Im uncomfortable in a mask for 20 minutes and cant imagine a 10 hour shift. She tells me she can't afford to quit, but now feels she should. She's maybe 25 yo and healthy. She also said why can't they just let me decide and take the risk as I see fit. I really didnt know what to say. Just passing along fwiw. Part of me thinks these masks are just to make people FEEL safer. Sent from my SM-G960U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Just went out to the store. Store has a huge sign on each door. DO NOT COME INTO THE STORE WITHOUT A MASK. More than half the people werent wearing masks. We will never be able to make this work if stores arent even enforcing their own rules. I spoke to my kids about that today. Hey, even if you dont agree with the store rules, it's their rules and you have to honor them. It's not your damn store.
Have we seen any evidence that masks and social distancing has helped decrease the infection rates of say the regular flu, etc? I really dont know.
Was just thinking about this today. All these people burning and looting while expousing anti government sentiments.....are they secessionists? If they have statues made will they be torn down in the years to come?
The problem is who is going to enforce these rules? Since they aren't laws, the police can't enforce them. And there are a bunch of people out there with an axe to grind about wearing masks. They're looking for a fight and a social media viral video to go along with it. Apparently screaming in people's faces and acting like your civil liberties are being taken away is the cool new thing. To the person stationed at the door making $12/hour and being asked to enforce the rule, it's not worth the hassle.
Agreed. Here in VA, police can enforce those executive orders, however we have been told the health department will do it....yeah right. So it is never enforced. I don't blame the clerks one bit for not doing anything. However, I would say they have a real argument if they brought their management to task and told them they were considering a lawsuit based on them not keeping them safe at work. Knowingly allowing violations of the law and endangering their employees. I'm sure several months of surveillance cams showing managers not holding patrons accountable to their standards which just happens to be the "law", might make corporate squirm a bit...especially if someone got sick.
I've worked several full days on-site at a client location in a mask. I've also hunted for many hours with a mask on. Spoiler alert: It's not a big deal! Most of the people complaining about wearing a mask have never worn one for more than a few minutes. If the toughest part of your day is having to deal with wearing a mask for a few hours, I think you're doing alright. She's 25 and works as a gas station clerk. Why am I not surprised she would quit her job over having to wear a mask. For the same reason she can't come to work topless. There are rules that employers make. Employees follow them, or they don't work there. I know that's how it's worked at every employer I've ever had. In most cases I believe you're correct.
I agree with this, if a store requires a mask and I go in the store I will adhere and wear a mask. If the governor issues a statewide mandate in public(hearing he is considering a rollback to phase 3 anyway), so be it, it won't change much for me anyway. I'll put the mask on when I leave my truck to go into the store and take it off when I return. I will not wear a mask while driving, I will not wear a mask while on my own property whether I am mowing out front or barbecuing out back. I pay at the pump so I likely will not wear a mask when I fill up, if I have to I'll sit in my truck while its fueling, again, so be it. My issue is they control the numbers. They can raise them and they can lower them at their discretion. Look ar hiw the numbers are changing all the time, deaths removed in TX. Nsgatives being reportrd as positives in FL. Here in my city, a coworkers son was called by the county health dept. He didn't know the number so did not answer. He returned the call and they answered as such, number verifies. They said his test results came in and he tested positive and would need to qurantine. He has never been tested. Then his roommate, who works at a bar that has had several cases recently received a call literally on the drive home, less than 15 minutes, stating his test came back positive. It was the brain jab test, not the new quick tests, that takes 48 hours to gdt results. When the governement starts controlling things and granting themselves greater powers in the name of "safety" is when I start getting skeptical.
