I just showed it to you, lol. Believe what you want, it’s pretty simple logic, but logic does not work in tribal politics. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I would be worried I do not want to be the one that gives it to my grandson, or my parents or inlaws. Although it is an excuse to not have the parents at the house while we unpack.

Not so much for myself but the effect it could have on my wife, she is immunocompromised. I'd be be pretty upset if she died and the redneck dipchit anti-science crowd around here should be worried about that bc once I have nothing more to live for..
Pulmonary Edema, but the buffet definitely was an underlying condition. I was just going to reply with "ham sammich", but seemed course.
since the vast majority of "masks" being worn by people are not HAZMAT- or even surgical-grade they do you really think they do anything other than maybe keep you from accidentally inhaling a water droplet coughed on you from an infected person; which you would have to be within 6 feet to have happen? And per the NY times, they supposedly don't do anything in regards to keeping the vapor in your general immediate vicinity during your normal breathing cycle exhalation. Several years ago, at work several of us had to unload a 53 foot trailer of loose natural wood charcoal. Like 10,000lbs of charcoal; and it generated clouds of very fine coal dust. Initially, we were given k95 masks. While all of us had coal dusting all over our faces, you could still see the skin showing through the areas outside of the mask. After a couple hours or so, we took a break and took our masks off. Every one of us were completely black *INSIDE* the mask areas. We had been inhaling and recirculating the coal dust inside the "barrier" of the mask which actually concentrated the particulate. We immediately quit and went to the nearest Home Depot and picked up the 3M "Bane" looking masks with the replaceable filters. Those did a better job although still not 100%. I was coughing up black crud for 2 weeks after that incident. I would wager that water vapor is infinitely finer than coal dust; and any viruses inside said water vapor are obviously even smaller. Sorry but I don't trust a paper mask, cheesecloth, or a hankie to act as a barrier to that. Masks should not be political. Wear one, don't wear one. I don't care. Either way I want you more than 6 feet from me and if you are coughing or sneezing stay the F home until you aren't.
Ok, my fault on the date. I looled at the last series of the numbers and seen 20061217 and thought it was December of 06. So it's just the opposite. It was released after the switch in mask use. So, I'll ask this. If I am symptom free and go into a store without a mask. While inside I go directly to the item I am there to get, go to the self checkout(oh no, I'm not getting paid but I am doing an employee job) and leave. While I was there I did not talk to anyone, I did not cough, I did not sneeze and I didn't lick anything. Am I still the problem?
I will second the reply that said only if symptomatic. While I think the government's response was and is completely over the top and inappropriate; I don't think the virus itself is a hoax- I know a completely healthy 34yo dude that got knocked on his butt by it- said he was more sick than he'd ever been in his entire life. Guy is a marathoner. It took him about a month to recover completely; but he was not hospitalized. Well, that and I am a giant baby whenever I have any upper respiratory infection. So I have always been a Zicam (zinc) junkie and germophobe.
Yet again pipe wrench, that is a post switch in mask stance. What changed between masks don't work and masks are the essential tool in stopping the spread? It was only a matter of a couple weeks or so, what changed their mind? I'll also state that I believe the initial claim on N95 masks was because they knew they were screwed on medical grade supplies. The initial push for masks was because something would be better than nothing and then it turned into masks are the saving grace, yet we all know that unless it is N95 or higher it is essentially useless in containment of the virus passing through, not disputing that it can stop a droplet but the weaving simply cannot contain it in non medical grade materials.
Even if the material was somewhat acceptable look at how most people wear them. So loose fitting they practically fall off while standing there let alone talking, covering their mouth and not their nose yet they breathe through their nose because breathing through the mask sucks. Most people pull the mask off when they converse as well. Does anyone actually think all these professionals and politicians coming on TV wearing a mask, removing it while they say their piece and then put it back on to stand behind the next speaker who does the same thing, wear masks and sit 6 feet apart while behind closed doors and out of camera view?
Margin for error would be well beyond the .09% rate they are finding for effectiveness. Or, even the 2% number they say at a later stage. If I was sick, I would surely wear a mask to protect others from me. Actually, I would stay home. But, I was comfortable eating at a restaurant last evening with some friends where not a single mask was seen. I will continue to take my temperature every morning and evening and distance from those at risk. (my mother) I am buying 40 acres from a farmer tonight that has invited us out for smoked ribs. We will not be wearing masks. I think that is a fairly common assessment for most rural areas in Iowa. The Metro areas are far more likely to require masks. That being said, I sit on the non-profit board for our local theater and we just voted to require masks and social distancing as we re-open for limited showings. As far as I know, that will be the only business in our county that will actually require a mask to enter.
I also want to know about this Swine Flu 2. They are saying it could become another pandemic. How? How is it going to be possible for it to go world wide with all the travel restrictions still in place? If it somehow does, I will no longer believe anything politicians or scientists say as they are just guessing like the rest of us.
I'm not against mask requirements in confined areas where groups of people will be, especially theatres where I can't ever recall going to a movie and not hearing at lesst one cough or sneeze I myself would choose not to go to an event as such, mask or not I still social distance and avoid large gatherings. I'm defiant not stupid. I lied too earlier on, I wore a mask a 5th time when I went for my check up and they were required on at all times while there. I had no issue there and actually cancelled/moved that appointment from the end of Feb. as that was the last place I wanted to be when things were just starting to break headlines. I actually wanted to wear one of my N95 masks to protect myself since it was a medical facility with an urgent care on the main floor. Opted not to as I figured it would be insulting to the medical staff I didn't donate the 5 I had.
Yeah I have a full face mask or gas mask. I've been put into gas houses and hit with cs gas. If that seal isnt perfect you are getting some of that cs. Now imagine germs in the air and those weak little masks....
I don't understand a lot about the mask thinking. The N95 masks with a valve that opens when you exhale. The exhale is completely unfiltered. How are they on the list as far as protecting others if you're asymptomatic? I also have a hard time understanding how cloth masks stop a virus from coming through. The weave is much larger than a virus particle. So someone throws some "droplets" at you and it hits your mask, or you walk through some still remaining in the air. The mask stops the droplets, but those droplets contain what, 3 micron virus particles? I would think one inhale and you suck those suckers right through? Let alone like VS just said about fit. I've also been fitted for a respirator in years past, just going 3 days without shaving would get you a lung full of whatever that nasty yellow stuff was in the capsule they broke inside the test chamber. Show me a cotton weave tighter than 3 microns and I'll show you my new favorite black powder round ball patch material. I'll also utilize it for a diesel filter application and quit paying 80 bucks for my A/C Delco filters. (I realize the last two sentences are out in right field, I like being sarcastic) I'd love to hear those scientists give more details about their study. Was the timing of the mask mandates also when lockdowns were also in effect? Did they coincide with people becoming more aware and more careful, using sanitizer and washing more often? People staying home way more often now when sick than they did before? I can say with confidence that I didn't realize how many people weren't washing their hands after using the bathroom until this pandemic hit. I never wait for the water to be hot now. Were those things factored into the final results? They're scientists, I would sure hope they did is all I can think. I really feel a mask is only helpful in getting a person more aware to not touch their face until they can wash up. I do not feel weird wearing a mask and certainly don't struggle with feeling like my rights are being violated in some way to wear one, but my quizzical, slightly OCD mind sure has some doubts about them. I'm 47 years old and smoked for 20 of those years, I can pretty much guarantee I won't be lucky enough to be asymptomatic if I catch it. I figure wearing a mask is pretty easy to do, just in case it does actually help. Lot of doubts about it though.
