I don't think unemployment works that way, I could be wrong though. You can't quit your current job and then claim unemployment right away can you? You need to be laid off, furloughed, etc in order to claim unemployment. People are being laid off and furloughed and then claiming unemployment... Which is not good.
The democrats in congress trying to buy votes, I do not agree with the bonus. We are trying to hire people but can not even offering more $ to start but do not get applicants. It is frustrating people at work are working and getting paid overtime but they get mad about it after a month. How the hell can you be mad about bringing more $ home when many are unemployed? Oh yeah because it pays better to be on unemployment.

there's a big difference b/t a one time "stimulus check" and staying on unemployment. I've collected unemployment before- pretty sure the check didn't come from US treasury. Came from the state.
Did the president sign off on the bill allowing people to collect the additional $600 a month in unemployment? Do people out there really think when they receive that additional $600 on their unemployment check - "this bill that allowed me to get this money was the democrats idea, I'm going to vote for them." What are the millions of republicans who are receiving the additional $600 a month going to do? So many questions.
I am a republican that has never collected unemployment and I did not receive a stimulus check, I bet there are more republicans like me than democrats.
I ran out of fingers and toes. Around 24-28m as I recall. Workforce was >150 million—ish (not from BLS, that is probably much lower), so yeah we're probably there per BLS, but maybe not. Last I checked, no vaccine and the virus has a great ROI...we still have time though.
