May have to look into that. But of course, there will be people who say we cant do that in a capitalist country. I do like that their cards are chip only. But there again, but the cost of the machine....we cant make the merchant buy those machines....it costs too much! Went round and round with the neighborhood gas station owner about this. He said we live in BFE, who is going to hack me? Guess who put in chip readers last January? He got hacked. Cost him a **** ton!
$1.59 here ... I'll still take it ( was $1.34)... I'm going turkey hunting and fishin' for white bass/crappie/walleye ..... as States open up and countries open up after the virus BS, prices are bound to rise ...
Our friends brother picked up covid, she told us he got sick a couple weeks ago. He was tested and riding it out at home, however he started slipping at the beginning of the week and ended up in the ICU, its been a steady progression down hill. They finally brought his wife and kids in one at time yesterday, the thinking is they might not have another chance. He is 51, in better shape then most people, hasn't smoked in 20 years, no underlying conditions.
That’s so terrible. I hope he makes it. This is why I hate it so much. Not many of us have had it affect someone real close to us. The mindset for many is “we need to get back to work/normal” (I feel that way to a point). But then we also have cases like you mentioned where healthy people are dying that could have been prevented (granted it’s such a small small small percentage), but that doesn’t take away from the fact that people are still dying and it can be prevented. The media doesn’t tell us about the deaths of the common flu and stuff, but this is still a big deal. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Just got word that my neighbor tested positive for Covid. We are friends with them but have been doing the avoid everybody so we are not worried about ourselves. She is fairly healthy and in her late fifties, she started showing symptoms last weekend, was tested and waiting for results but her breathing became an issue so yesterday morning they went to the emergency room and she was admitted. That's all we know for now.
My FIL was taken by my wife and MIL to the ER tonight with severe abdominal pain and vomiting. In his case, probably obstructed bowls. He has had it four times in the last six years. But, it is a terrible time to be needing a trip to the ER. He was admitted and my wife and MIL were sent home. They wouldn’t even let them in the hospital. They had to wait in the car for almost two hours to hear if he was being admitted. If he doesn’t have it now, I would be surprised if he didn’t catch it in the hospital.
MIL just called the ER is saying its another bowel obstruction. I don’t know how much more intestines he can lose before he can no longer digest food normally. It is going to have to be there for at least three days hoping medicine will make him pass it. I don’t think the hospital will do surgery to clear it unless they become convinced it is life threatening. Really hoping he doesn’t get the corona while he is there.
So my mother’s rest home has a gym for rehab, and folks not living there get sent to rehab there sometimes. They did a real good job shutting down access, no visitors, etc, and early in the game too, would you know first case in Rockwall goes in there, 2 then 4, 7, when the cases got to 20 they opened up a covid wing. Mom was one of them. Nowhere to move them, we can’t see our mother now since beginning of March. So all about money still. Sent from my iPad using Bowhunting .com Forums
Sounds like they are doing the best they can in a tough situation. Best of luck Sent from my SM-G950U1 using Tapatalk
Consumer debt hits a record 14.3T. Which will become a big deal when the deferrals turn to defaults. Last numbers I saw was now 7.5% mortgages were in forebearance. Credit cards, auto and lines may also be impacted in another month and a half when 90days+ are apparent. And the bit of good news was credit card balances dropping 34B. https://www.cnbc.com/2020/05/05/consumer-debt-hits-new-record-of-14point3-trillion.html
