What's wrong with me? I think about that crisp fall air and my love for bowhunting, but I haven't slung a single arrow since deer season. Anybody else going through this? I've been caught up in everything else, and honestly, haven't felt like shooting much... I want too, just kind of been too lazy or occupied by other things... Married life... That's what I blame.:D
The last arrow I released was on the doe I shot last day of the WI bow season. I'll start shooting again in early August.....but honestly, my heart lies in the hunt, not the technical aspect.
I shot a lot, early in the year. Since late March....I haven't shot a single arrow. How about this......I have a brand new Schafer Silvertip downstairs that's never been shot. I haven't even installed a brass nock on it, yet.....lol.
I shoot every day,year-round(unless I'm out of town on vacation or something). Some days,I'll shoot 2,3,or 4 differant bows
That's crazy!! You must be damn busy!!! I haven't shot much at all myself. Been very busy with work. Hopefully I can get some free time In the next few weeks. It's not that I don't want to. I really, really miss shooting but just haven't had much time.
I haven't shot since season ended in mid January by design. While hunting is definitely one of my top four passions in life, I have lots of other interests and limited time, so I purposely have stayed away from my bow during this time. I will start trying to shoot a couple of times per week beginning mid June and will gradually increase the frequency as the Summer progresses.
I shot when I could through the winter. I've been shooting quite a bit this spring because of bear hunting. Havent shot in a week or so. Next time I release an arrow should be at a blackie!
Last shot was when I killed a doe in November. I probably won't touch it until late July or early August.
I've been shooting everyday pretty much, trying to work on my form alot to build muscle memory. The new bow and I are getting along very nicely.
I shoot every day, most days twice a day! I usually shoot a few hundred arrows daily, I love it that much. Its pretty much part of my day, I make the time to shoot before and after work. Kinda reminds me of something I read a couple days ago.... "Archery isn't something I do, it's who I am!" This fits me bigtime! In reality, I couldn't imagine "not" shooting my bow!
I shot one time before turkey season. Took one shot and killed a gobbler. Havent taken a shot since. I will start shooting in late August or early September.
I stick to my practice routine all year. I shoot one single arrow every morning before work. Climb up my practice stand with hunting clothes on. I move my target around different yardages and angles everyday. Then I'll simply practice the real situation and shoot one arrow. I vary how long I hold my draw etc... Everything I can do to make it close to the real deal. It is amazing the difference knowing you have one shot to get it done rather than slinging 100 arrows at a target from the ground. I do rev it up and shoot a lot of arrows as well (work on form and reallly dial myself in) around August or September.
Shooting daily here. I've been flinging 816 grain arrows from my 84 pound X-Force in preparation for July's Cape Buffalo/Hippo hunt.
Yeah T, its pretty cool belonging to an Archery club. Best $100 I spend a year. I practice on our 3 different 3D courses every day, from stands to up and down hill shots, to much fun! Best pratice there is!
Shooting everyday , even if its just 5 arra's ..... Always trying to improve ready for Colorado this Fall .
Dang man, do you work? lol, that would be awesome, but there's no way I could do that, and I don't even work 40hrs a week. Is it real close to where you live? Do you shoot the entire course everyday? Do you mow your yard? :D That's a lot of shooting. I wouldn't want to play cowboys and Indians with you...
Bro if I had more time I would join the one down here in Kenosha. I do have range that is free with 4 targets at 10,20,30,40 yards with a 20 foot deck. They also have a 14 course target range out in the woods. It is part of the Chain O Lakes state park and if I bring a fishing pole with I can also catch a few White Bass on the Fox River. I am pretty much shooting everyday myself right here in my long driveway. Ive started doing my own fletching now with U.C. Wraps also. Now I just need to get some BHC wraps and I will be all set.
