I don't, but I heard there was an article or something in there about some guys having thier entries removed and they were kicked out of the club for using lighted arrow knocks. Anyone care to clear the story up for me?
I knew that and maybe I was a little misleading with the original post. What I am most curious about is if these members were removed from the club.
Yes there was a few removed for different reasons. The one reason for one was a Luminok. It was a Brown Bear that measured 22 15/16 (skull).
Gotcha. I thought it was a bit weird that might not know that since you're not on my list of 'posters that are morons'. Schultzy, are you a P&Y member?
Honestly I don't know but If I had to guess I'd say he's still eligible for membership. Whether or not he stayed a member or not who knows.
You always crack me up Christine!! Don't change!! I'm an associate member. I haven't enough qualification's to be a regular member yet.
How in the world would the P&Y club know if an archer used a lighted nock....or not? I'm assuming they just listed this on their app?????
Schultzy, at least you're not an 'irregular' member. Buckhunter1988 here's the P&Y rules of fair chase. Helpless in a trap, deep snow or water, or on ice. From any power vehicle or power boat. By “jacklighting” or shining at night. By the use of any tranquilizers or poisons. While inside escape-proof fenced enclosures. By the use of any power vehicle or power boats for herding or driving animals, including use of aircraft to land alongside or to communicate with or direct a hunter on the ground. By the use of electronic devices for attracting, locating or pursuing game or guiding the hunter to such game, or by the use of a bow or arrow to which any electronic device is attached. Any other condition considered by the Board of Directors as unacceptable.
Looks like you can't have a light on your sight either. Would using a rangefinder to determine the distance to your deer be considered locating game?
I don't think they draw the line at rangefinders but I've heard of that being debated. I guess a GPS could be debated. Trail cameras. Flashlights. :D
Kind of hard to range an animal that you haven't already located so I'd say no. It could fall prey to the "Any other condition..." catch all if they determine so at a later date. How are they going to tease it out though?
In the case I listed the bow hunter who shot the animal wrote an article In a magazine stating he used a Luminok. Another P&Y member saw the article and called the P&Y. The P&Y then looked Into It and It was legit. I don't see what's so bad about lighted nocks but It Is what It Is. The thing allot of measurers are doing now Is x-raying the skulls on racked animals to make sure their not 2 different skulls glued together. Pretty sad how people are getting these days.
