If you see my scruffy it’s because I am lazy and hate to shave. I actually shave more during hunting season. I hate wearing a facemask being prickly. Face paint is much easier to apply clean shaven as well. Some say a beard is enough but I am not so sure. The oils in our skin make us glow under any direct sunlight. A beard is certainly not enough for waterfowl or yotes. IMO
I go off and on between slick faced and 1/4-1/2" groomed full "beard". I surprisingly hear from most girls that they dig the beard look better. Unfortunately I can't have a beard through school and work, so mine are restricted to turkey season and duck season when I am out of school.
I had a beard from last summer up until earlier this summer, when I shaved it down to chops and a goatee Working construction, I can look as trashy as I want and no one will say anything
I have a neatly trimmed goatee. Full beard is WAY to itchy for me and I look like a weirdo clean shaven
I happen to think the more facial hair you have the while being a construction worker the better you are.
I can't say I've every experienced the itchy stage of growing a beard. I shave it off every week or month or or let it grow for a few months and keep it trimmed somewhat. Depends on if I feel like shaving/trimming or not which I usually don't. I usely wait until I've got something important to go to before I get serious about being clean shaven. Once and a while I will get clean shaven just to make the wife's day. On a very, very rare occasion will I shave the stache off. Wife hates the beard especially now it is going gray. She says I look like an old man. I tell her I feel like one most days !!! Tim
