Last year I had a Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid ( always were together in a beanfield along my driveway at night) and this year I haven't named my new deer on camera.

We do just so we know what deer were talking about.
    This year we have.
    Shooter (of course)
Big Wicked, I called him big ugly but the wife changed it.
Pistol Grip, end of his right side main beam turns down
Wide Load, over a 20" spread.
Flyer, because he has about a 5 or 6" flyer off his right side G2 and he runs with,
    Slick 6, no brows!
Several smaller bucks around but we just call them seed. In Northern Michigan the wife would call them dead meat!

The only one I have ever named was a very energetic button buck that I named Rocky. I saw him nearly every night of his first fall, then I watched him all through bow season the next year. My Dad shot him during rifle season that year. He still hears about it.

Reminds me of the time my oldest son met up with me on the way out of the woods one night and started talking about a beautiful Bobcat that was all over under his tree that evening. He kept going on about how awesome it was to see one in the wild and how beautiful it was, while the whole time he's talking, I have it throwed over my shoulder trying to hide it behind my back. Well he finely notices that I have something behind my back and asks, what you got! I hold it out in front of me and say, I'm glad you enjoyed it so much, soon you will be able to look at it all the time
It was a long quiet walk out of the woods that night till he said , You going to Eat that arnt you!

I don't really name them I just refer to them by some unique feature of their rack or body.

Haha! As they walk past, I always find myself saying "Good luck little buddy." When gun season is around the corner, I have a moment of silence for them knowing their days are numbered. Most of I have seen multiple times during bow season.

I usually don't name them because they rarely live past 1.5, and I don't use cams. If I see same buck multiple times on stand, sometimes I name them for my own amusement. For example, I have seen the same 1.5 4pt fives times now. Last week he ruined a hunt by chasing some does away. I named him Cock Blocker. He strolled by again yesterday evening at 15 yards.

    Only once... Ol' 3-Leg

Man he had an awesome rack (and a broken front leg that healed in the up position) - tons of pics that one year (on an old 35mm Camtrakker)...and spent time looking for him post season and sheds, nothing, never another picture - no word of him being taken in our area...Gone.
