Hey Scowd, thanks for posting that pic. I'm soooo ready for Thursday afternoon. I see in your Bio that you hunt a lot of public land in MO. Have you ever hunted anywhere near St. Louis. I'm thinking about checking out Catawissa Conservation Area. Ever heard of it?

I've heard of it but that's about it. I was always worried about the amount of pressure public ground would get that close to the city. That doesn't mean it isn't a good spot. On new public ground I always walk the boundary line first. Seems like deer usually will bed on private ground. Check out Google earth to see what's on the private ground that butts up to the public. Look for any possible food source on the private ground that the deer will hit. Also look for cedar patches on Google. Seems like deer travel from one cedar patch to the next where I hunt. That's where I usually do most of my hunting. In the woods about 20 or 30 yards from the cedar patch. They usually have a lot of sign in & around them. If not check out the next patch. Hope that helps a little. Good luck this weekend!

The tree line in the distance has 11 scrapes down it. Some are better than others but 11 nonetheless. Seeing a lot of scrapes this year already. [IMG]

We just got this guy on our cams. Not sure if he's a 140 or not. 140 or better is what I'm after. Body looks big. If it's the same one my buddy saw on opening morning then he's saying 140 or 150. That one was wide with a lot of points. [IMG][IMG]

Hey guys, so just to get a final count, who does want to make a group chat. If you don't, that's totally fine, and I understand. But for the people who do, just tell me on here, then PM me as soon as you can. Let's get it going if we're going to do it. I'm going on sit #4 tonight. Good luck guys

Guys, I shot a doe this morning, was only able to track her about 50 yes, and the blood had just started getting good. Let me know what kind of blood you think it is. I'm going back around 12-1 because of school.

Yup that's blood! haha Hard to say what kind though. I don't see bubbles, but sometime you don't with lung shots. It looks darker. Often, but not always, lung blood is more pink then red. I also see what appears to be white hair on the leaf in the first picture. Often this points to a deer hit low, but not always!. If I had to guess from those pictures I would say heart shot or a shot back of the lungs. But again, those two pictures don't tell much of a story.

Hope ya find her, gooing to be a long day at school, that's for sure!
