BIG BUCK DOWN! Hahah Just kidding. My sweet girlfriend bought me a grendel pre rut buck for my 21st birthday birthday, Technically yesterday now but on the 24th of September. It was a great surprise!
Cool, I've been out of town at a funeral for the past three days and now I'm playing catch-up at work. I'll try to take a look at my PM's this weekend and get a list together. Sorry for the delay. -D
Happy birthday Aaron! No luck here yet. I've been out 2 mornings and 1 evening hunt. Opening morning I had a small buck at 15 and 2 doe out of range. Was out last week for a morning hunt and had a doe coming in but she turned around, she looked too small anyway. Afternoons have been hot so far. Looks like it's going to be hot again next week too. The acorns are falling so I'm going to get a few morning hunts in next week anyways. My iSolunar app shows Sun, Mon, and Tues to be good days to be out. We'll see.

Thank you guys so much It was a great one! Good luck to all those that are hunting. October third is the opener for Texas. Unfortunately I wasn't able to make the arkansas opener. and I won't be able to make the Texas opener because I literally work open to close. But my wonderful girlfriend told me that I could go out on sunday to hunt even on her day off. So i am pretty excited about that! I see many skipped classes here in the future!
I'm heading in to hunt some acorns on the public land I usually hunt. Maybe it's the night? If not I'll be on stand in the morning.
I got my stand hung but then I got out of there. I was dripping with sweat by the time I was finished. Thought it would be best to get out of there & save it for the morning. I plan on hunting the next 3 mornings. Looks good in there. Acorns are falling & I can see where they have been feeding. Jumped one deer walking into the spot. I'll update in the morning. Heads up, I was one step away from stepping on a small copperhead on my walk out.
I finalized my spot today. Went out to public land and have my spot ready for next sunday morning. It is a really heavy walked trail between to thickets with oaks dropping acorns. There were rubs on both side of the thickets so I am hoping for the best
Finally got some free time from work and was able to make it out this evening for a sit. Saw a lot of deer but only 1 small 8 point. Checked my cam at that spot and I still have my 12 and a 10 showing up but they are coming in around midnight. Our son is due end of October so hopefully I will be able to focus more on hunting these next few weeks as my time will be very limited after he's born.
