I've been scouting a little recently, trying to locate a new honey hole, I like to keep things fresh and move around a bit so I like to have alot of places to hunt. I went in on a trail you can see from the road found scrapes and I mean alot maybe 7-10 in an area, trails galor, droppings, tracks you name it I found my honey hole, I left my trail cam for three days and have pics of two small bucks and one small doe. ok not a whole lot but good. down the road a constuction crew is riping down the forest and heading my way. I didnt know what they were doing so I packed in the trail cam and left the place, I went back in today and found that they were digging a dranage ditch, well they pushed all the way to the spot I had my trail cam set up and dug out 4 of the finest scraps in the area( the ones my trail cam would have been watching). It looked like they were complete and some of the scrapes survived as well as seeing some good sign in the fresh mud from that the big tractors left behind. It almost looks like the deer in the area have not reacted to the new addition to there forest. I reset my trail cam.
Here is a pic of what it looks like.

    YELLOW STAR= MOCK SCRAPE
    YELLOW LINES= HEAVY DEER TRAILS
    BLUE STREAM

I doubt that the construction will effect the deer much because i am putting a trailer on my property kinda far back into the woods and the day after doing some bulldosing i went out there and there were deertracks everywhere. I put up a feeder and a trailcam out there and still get many deer pics.

I wouldn't let it stop me. One of my fav spots is 12 acres in an urban area, adjacent to a freeway, 100yards away is construction ongoing, I see a ton of deer here on a consistent basis
