I'm in the process of buying a badlands back pack . I stumped between the superday and the ultra day packs . I got to buy unline , there is none of those for me to see locally. question is, is the superday waist belt a lot bigger and combersome than the one on the ultraday ? I want a top quality pack with lots of pockets , but there is not going to be a real lot of weight in it . I moose hunt here in newfoundland canada so it will not be used to transport meat. I just want a good quality pack that I can organize my gear well and is comfortable to wear. Alan
I have no experience with the Ultraday, but have the Superday pack and the Monster Fanny by Badlands and have been very happy with both. Each have certian uses for me but I'd have no problem recommending the Superday to anyone. Lots of pockets and comfortable to wear. The waistbelt doesn't seem cumbersome to me at all.
The first thing you should ask yourself, how much gear am I going to carry on the field? For example: When I was in Iraq conducting convoys, we basically prepared for the worst and hope for the best! So with that said you should consider the gear that you need the most in case of an emergency, when hunting out there by yourself or with a Buddy.
I bought the ultra day pack before my Elk hunting trip this year. I have to say it was money well spent. I carried it 10 days in the Rockies and a mule deer hunt so far. Very comfy, and alot of weight feels like nothing at all.
