Rumor has it he's planning on playing in the Accenture Match Play tournament in 2 weeks. Not sure how much validity there is to it, but numerous media sources are reporting it. Let the games begin. Should be interesting. Maybe one of the most watched press conferences ever.
I wish him luck. I hope his return is successful. What occurred is between him and his wife (or....the lady who owns 1/2 his stuff). Give 'em hell, Eldrick.
I'm suprised he would make his return so soon. I guess the sooner he can get back out there and get the media frenzy over with the better.
To be honest, I'm not surprised with how soon he is returning. I'm not a golf fan, but I've read enough of Tiger's stuff about sports psychology to know that he is mentally one of the strongest competitors that we ever have or ever will see. I hope he gives them hell and can get himself back on track, I really don't care about his personal life but would love to see him do well.
I kind of question his return in match play format. I would have thought he'd play in a normal tournament to get 4 rounds to get back in the swing of things. Would hate to see him bounced in the first or second match. But, I'm not in Tigers camp. I suppose he knows what he's doing (i think)
I honestly figured his ego (not a cut, at all) wouldn't allow him to NOT play in the Masters. I thought that would be his 1st tourn. back. He'd be "sheltered" from the media MORE, there, than anywhere else, also.
This doesn't surprise me at all. Golf is the thing that he does. Each one of us have that one thing that we really enjoy doing in our life. For Tiger, it is getting out there on the national stage and kicking the competition a**. It will probably be the one place that he can get to where he can kind of let go of the troubles that he is dealing with. The media is going to be there regardless of when he returns. He will be the biggest story in sports that week when it happens. There is no way he will miss the Masters though.
