My whisker rest seems to be putting minor tears into my fletchings, is that normal and will small tears make a difference?

    Other Arrow rest suggestions?

From your friendly neighborhood archery noob.

From my experience,Yes,whisker biscuits can /do put a hurting on fletchings.
Flechings help in the straight flight of an arrow as well as stability.

I have used a WB for the last 13 years and I've only experienced slight "waving" of my fletching. It doesn't have any affect on my arrow flight at all. It's important to have the "cock vane" up, so the other 2 vanes straddle the black bristles, which are the stiffer support bristles for the arrow. Also, make sure you're not getting contact anywhere else. Hope this helps.
