Dude, I've got one, and I swear by it. Others will tell you about their high $ fall away rests, and that's fine. I have never tried one. I can turn my bow upside down and the arrow stays at the ready. It simple, easy and accurate.

Ah, the old Wisker Bisquit thread. I've been using one for 10 years now. I wouldn't use anything else for hunting.

I have never used one, but I know they were extremely popular before the fall away rest came out....I have never heard anyone say they didn't like em...the only complaint I have heard was that they wear out easily if you shoot a lot and the feathers get torn up quickly thru them...but that's all here say...

I used one for a couple of years. While I liked the way they helped my shot accuracy, I did not like the WB because it completely tore the heck out of my fletchings, and it was loud as anything. I hunt skittish deer and the last thing I want is to alert them to any sound while I am drawing my bow. I will never use one again due that noise problem.

This is what I purchased this year and have been extremely happy. Very reasonable cost, extremely quiet on the draw, and accurate.

I have never (in 10 years) had a problem spooking deer up close on the draw. All of my kills have been 25 yrds or less. It's important to shoot with the cock vane up so the vanes straddle the black bristles, which are the support bristles, stiffer than the brown. If you shoot enough, you will get wavey vanes. I've never noticed any change in my shooting because of it though. I just refletch mine anyway, it's fun.

I also have the quik-tune capture rest and love it. You just have to turn your knocks on your arrows to avoid fletching getting torn from the brushes. I went to get a whisker biscuit and was told they slowed the arrows down a little bit and messed up the fletching so I went ahead and got the capture rest and dont regret it one bit. How this helps

WB is a great rest, and especially for hunting. Its fool proof and idiot proof....if its set up right. If you have them set up correctly, you can shoot thousands and thousands of arrows through them without any fletching damage before you need to replace the biscuit. I use Black Beman ICS Hunters with them....it is dead quiet on the draw. I've tried some arrows that do make a noise on the draw...but the "slick" shafts do not. Also, most WB shooters use blazers or similar...stiff short vanes work best. I shoot helical on mine, and they work perfectly out of it. If you get one...make sure you set it up right and you will love it. All the people that bash the WB....99% have them set up incorrectly. Good luck! :)

One more thing....make sure to get a big enough hole. I use LG...even though MED will work. You cant go too big...too small will cause issues.

I had the WB but switched to the Octane Hostage Pro. I switched because the WB was loud and doing a number on my vanes.

X2 on that. However, one of the guys I hunt with switched to the QAD ultra rest and I think I might give it a try. It keeps the arrow from falling out and is quiet and best of all, there's no chance of interfierance (sp) with the vanes. I used the WB for years and it's a great rest but if you shoot anything other than a 2" vane it will demolish it. When I switched to the blazer vanes, they stopped wearing out so fast. I also think it's a little loud on the release.

WB here no problem with vanes and noise hasn't been a issue at all. Great rest for hunting.

? to VA and GA...on the Capture and Hostage...

Any problems at all with vane clearance on 4 inch offset and/or helical? If no contact, I guess feathers would work in these as well?

No problems with vane clearance. I shoot both slight off-set right on some of my arrows and right helical on the other set of arrows. Neither presented me with any problems. One thing with the Capture Rest is that you need your arrow level or it will wear down one side of the bristles at a much faster rate than the other. I set my rest up and was ever so slightly off with me leveling and it caused the right hand side of my bristles to wear down over several months. I moved my rest just a tad and it now it doesn't wear the bristles down at all. I really like the rest as it is super quick and accurate.

IMO it is all about personal opinion. I shoot just a regular two prong rest and it works \ fine for me. I have never used a WB, but know many people who do and love it. WB seems like a great rest for hunting

Same here. No problems with a slight right helical. Like VS said make sure your arrow is level and tuned or you'll wear the brushes quicker.

I completely agree with this, it is all personal preference.

I currently use an old NAP quicktune double prong rest and love it and will probably stick to it for whitetails - it paper tunes and shoots fixed blades great.

...but with an Elk hunt on the horizon I need a containment rest with a spot and stalk style of hunting - the double prong won't work for moving around in brush or crawling up to a shot, etc.

    Thanks for the info!

Over 10 years using one here also. Love it. No issues with sound or vanes ever. Plenty of good rests on the market and the WB is one. I am not a fan of the moving parts and cords on fall aways. I have seen some fail. Good luck.

i love the w/b rest, i shoot 70 lb bow with 50 percent let-off and this rest is the kiss (keep-it-simple-stupid) and just works, time after time no matter if you got buck fever or a little to much poundage for you old age (like me) and it's just one thing less to worry about. ;)
