T minus 10 days till the Kansas opener. This is the most excited I've ever been for a hunting season. I got daylight pictures of a couple nice deer so I am ready to go and each time I see a picture of a big buck I keep telling myself its just around the corner.

Heading out to shoot a little this afternoon. Going outside today so I'm going to let it cool off some first.

Just checking in.... Yesterday I got a burn and throw plot in of winter rye, hung a stand and checked cameras. Nothing big worth targeting yet, but that's fairly typical of the property until the corn is harvested. I walked the edge of the corn field and I couldn't see an ear of corn that had survived on the outer edges.

I think it is normal... Transition from summer coat to winter coat? I have seen this on my deer photos also.

Spent this weekend working on the property my brother and I own. Put out about 3 acres of Buck Forage Oats, going to see how the deer like them. Noticed that I had white oaks starting to drop their acorns there. That's the KY side, still got to hang a couple of more stands in WV and going to Ohio the first weekend in October.

Wait till you see the other one! I've been holding back on you guys. Give me another week or so and I might post a video of the "other one".

Going to do some scouting from the road at one of the other public land spots I'll probably hunt this fall.

This is the biggest one I've got pictures of yet... Usually after the corn is out I'll get some big ones using the property, but it is something to watch for now.

Congrats on the bow. I only hear good things about Mathews bows other than from people who are jealous because they cannot afford a Mathews bow. A new Mathews is well outside my budget but I recognize that they are high quality bows. Good luck to you this season. You should post a picture of it once you get it shoot ready!
