Hey fellas, just checking in. My name is Joey Barrett. I am originally from south eastern Ohio but now live in southeastern Kansas. I am right on the Kansas/Oklahoma line so I might hunt Oklahoma this year if something shows up on camera that makes me want to buy an out of state license. I usually go back to Ohio and hunt every November to hunt on the family ground. It is getting sold so this will probably be my last year. I moved to Kansas a little over a year ago, before that I had spent the previous three years in central Wisconsin not far away from Wausau. I lived in Spencer which is right outside of Marshfield, WI. I've been in the contest for a few years now. 2014- 93incher 2015- 2 Bucks- 155inches- shot the smaller buck first I read on the contest thread that the average score on the winning teams is 100 points per person. So even though this is for fun if everyone shot a spike and a doe theoretically we would probably win. Looking forward to getting to know you guys in the upcoming weeks and months!
Glad to have you. Those are some nice looking deer. If you can put one of those down it will be a big help. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I have no idea what I am going to do this season yet. I could probably go shoot a doe early season on my land but I'm really thinking about not hunting much or just hunting fun stands until late October. OTOH, my son make talk me into hunting and shooting something early. We shall see.
Id, like to get a doe down early season if possible. Im still working on scouting out the public land near me. I just got a new handheld Garmin in, so I'm going to mark some points and get boots on the ground to scout it out. If I find a couple decent spots ill throw a stand up. Its nice because its one of the few public spots where you can leave your stand.
Looks like we are still waiting on a few people to check in. Then we have ALT8 to join too. Ill give them a day or two then Ill send them a message if they haven't found their way over.
Checking in. SE MI here. I'll try to shoot a doe in our early antlerless season (late sept) but will then probably hold off until late Oct./ early November to deer hunt again. Haven't checked cams much this year but I'll throw up what I have from last fall. I have a lot of work to do still but I am excited to get back in a tree.
Hi I'm Chris, checking in from MO. Looking forward to the competition this year. I hope to spend as much time in the stand this year as possible. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I had two cameras that didn't work this summer when I got them out. I hope to do a card pull on one this weekend and hang two new ones Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
