I havent heard a lot of good things about whisker biscuits besides the fact they fully contain ur arrow plus common sense will tell u it will kill ur ibo. For a beginner I think its a good choice but my choice is the trophy taker smack down pro fall away which is limb driven so arrow clearance is never a factor. Its highly tunable an accurate all my arrows fly true with drop away and its housing allows for full containment.

Used a Whisker biscuit for the first few years and liked it.

As I started shooting more and more, my arrows shafts were getting wear marks and the vanes were getting distorted.

Took a chance and I bought a QAD HDX drop away.

I'll NEVER go back to a biscuit...

Biscuits are good for beginners as they are simple and require low maintenance.
Once you get into archery more seriously the become outdated...

With the HDX I started having the same accuracy at 50-70 yards that I was getting at the 30 yards mark with the biscuit.

Some of the worries about the HDX are that it may not drop because of frost or a broken string. ( never happened yet and I've hunted in wet below freezing temp...)
If it does happen, the arrow will still go through and you will probably get the same results as shooting with a biscuit.

If you're tight on a budget... keep the biscuit for a while.
If you have the $120 burning a hole in your pockets, get a HDX drop away. Comes with an installation DVD and bonus hunting scene...

I personally prefer a limb driven rest as opposed to a cable driven Ike a QAD. The limb driven is much simpler to tune and time and you can get it tuned perfectly in the field without a bow press. To tune a cable driven like a QAD I would need to serve the string into the cab else and mess with the placement. But with my trophy taker all I need to do is tie off to the bottom limb, and just pull the cord as taught I
As I can, lock the cord down and it is perfectly tuned

You dont need a bow press for a qad if you want to use the clamp that it comes with. Ive personally have had problems with the limb driven rests especially if attached to the top limb of a bow.

I just switched from a WB to a QAD Ultra not more than 3 weeks ago. I won't be going back.

I dont need any press to make any adjustments or to time it either. and it has every adjustment you need and want and its features are unbeatable in a rest i havnt found any limb driven that stay cocked up all i have seen rise as you draw your bow and i personally dont like that.

Yes but there is more to tuning a cable driven then just tightening a cord, not to mention if you don't use the clamp of serve on, it could move and cause the rest to not fire

Lol you have no idea what your talking about. I work at a shop. I have had one on a bow for 3 years no clamp or serving. Same on my creed xs. With the limb driven style they come lose and youll have to keep pulling the cord tight. I can show you a pic of hiw mines set up with no press or serving or clamp snd will always fire correct and never come outta tune.

I personally just made the switch from a bisquit to a qad hdx. was worried that the 140 bucks I was gonna spend was only going to give me minimal advantages. Only got to shoot it a couple times but I noticed a dramatic improvement in my groups. Not only that but I notice as my arrow is coming out of my bow, it flies straighter (don't get as much arrow jump and it settles into flight sooner when shooting 70 yards). IMPO I am glad I spent the money to get the QAD, where my green dot is on my target is exactly where my arrow flies to. Def spend the money now and I promise you wont regret it

Ill post a pic im not trying to be rude all in good fun. But i use a 5 dollar string seperator you can buy at most proshops. Its like a plastic screwdriver looking thing. My rest cord goes through and buts up on my serving and the pressure and melt keep it in place. Ive been doing it like this for 6 years and no issues what so ever and the shop i work at does it like this to.

I see, makes a lot of sense however I feel like the top serving in the string keeps it from moving up.0
