I personally have used a WB since they came out off and on. I have to chuckle anytime someone states that after you get past 40 yards your accuracy will suffer. Apparently they have never tuned their bow properly, or have pizz poor form. I currently shoot a WB Deluxe on my Monster 6 and can tell you 100% that I can stack arrows out to 60 yards when I do my part. The WB is slightly more critical of form flaws (especially at longer distances) so that's where these others say it is inaccurate at longer yardages. As far as speed loss, well I chrono'd the Monster @ 309.7 fps with the Mathews Downforce rest, changed over to the WB and using the exact same arrow I chrono'd her at 308.4 fps. Doesn't seem like any loss in speed there that I will notice. The WB is the most widely used hunting rest on the market and is trouble free, dead nuts accurate, and easy to set up and no maintaining needed. Just makes sense to me to use it.
I use the WB and it is very trouble free, was shooting perfect at 40yrds today and no sign of speed loss. I highly recommend it.
I spent 18 years doing everything I could to eliminate fletching contact and micro tune my bows (and bashing the WB - but never tried one)...then I realized, I shoot a bow to hunt not to be in the Olympics...I do more spot and stalk than ever. Put on a WB and I'm hooked! Accuracy - no issues at 80 yards for me. Speed - sure can't tell, and I haven't seen a chronograph in 15+ years. Vane wear - I shoot the Blazers and shoot nearly everyday...no problems yet. Would I shoot a WB in long range target archery - probably not (although I'd have confidence to)...but for hunting, quick loading, easy, solid, accurate, and absolutly full containment...Long Live the King!
