I've not heard it either. Killed 3 deer from within 20 yards since switching to a WB and none of them heard me draw back.

I heard that if you pull some cotton balls through the wb it won't make any noise, I mean that's what I heard but mine dont make a sound and plus your in the woods and last I checked the woods aint dead silence so I don't get the noise issue.

There's no right or wrong rest. This goes along with the age old debates of Ford vs Chevy, mechanical broadhead vs fixed broadhead and so on. I'd like to have 2 bows eventually and if I spend some good money on a high end bow and it comes with a nice drop away, I'll use it. I haven't always used a WB so whatever works.

i used to use a WB , but now i use a QAD . about 5 or 6 years ago i was out hunting in the SE corner of KS and it was a misty rainy day in mid Dec . had a deer walk in and i drew back . when i fired my arrow snapped and when i looked at my bow the WB was bent and thats when i noticed that with all the moisture that it had frozen solid . needless to say it ruined my arrow and the WB so i installed a QAD rest and i have never looked back . one of the best decissions i have made .

that is what kept me from trying a wb. with the weather in my area, logic told me that if I had one get wet and freeze i'll be in trouble. so that is why I stayed with a drop away. I suppose if I hunted in warm climate and fair weather it would be great. but I hunt in some pretty nasty conditions.

The noise becomes an issue for me when it's really cold here in Minnesota. Well below 32 degrees and I notice it, which can be half the season here. I think the bristles stiffen up and I hear them scratching on my arrow as I draw back. Or maybe i'm just losing my mind. If your in California, which i'm assuming by your name, you shouldn't have this issue.

If you're drawing back on the buck of your dreams at 15 yards your going to want to be dead quiet or as close to it as possible. I've loved my wb for the last half dozen years or so and just this year noticed the noise. I hunted more in December this year and that's when I noticed the scratching noise. Enough to make me try something else but if I was in a warmer climate I would keep it for sure. Lot's of hunters here on this forum hunting Northern states has anyone else experienced what I have?

Yeah they get stiffer and I noticed the noise too. I shot one up until last year and I like the qad better. Doesn't tear up my vanes

I can certainly see the noise issue being an issue in severe cold temps. I personally have not had that issue hunting some harsh conditions here in NE. I shot a couple of nice bucks this season since going back to the WB. They both were within 15 yards and both days were very quiet. Neither heard a thing until the arrow hit them ;)
All good pros and cons... I had great luck w/ my drop away, but just don't want to risk having the chord break, etc. again.

I agree with WOODS, had the same thing happen to me. Also remember the type of arrows you are using can cause scraping noise on the draw back after awhile. Don't get me wrong. I love the WB.

Love my QAD Ultra Hdx. Had a NAP Apache before the QAD, and found the Apache heavier.

I've had/have both and like both. I feel I shoot tighter long range groups with the WB though.

WB is good solid hunting rest for lot of bow hunters. I would guess it has accounted for more game killed since it been on the market they any other rest in the same time period.

I plan on switching back to a WB after turkey season. I would do it before but I don't have time to tune before the season opens.

I would be happy to shoot the whisker biscuit but I'm going to be shooting 4 fetching this year so it wouldn't work to great.

So I've been doing some thinking and after my string busted and my wb got jacked up I'm go ahead and give a drop away a try and see how it feels, but if I don't like it I'll just got back to good ol wb......
