I like mine. The open wb is better for laying in the arrow

I shoot a QAD fall away and please explain to me some things that I cant understand WB shooters. Why shoot something that creates noise, slows arrow speed, damages fletchings, affects accuarcy, and could possibly function poorly in adverse weather conditions? Im confused. The QAD is full containment and doesnt come in contact with the arrow or vanes at all. Not being negative here, just wondering why that would be your choice when there seems to be clearly better products out there.

My first post to the forums & I couldnt help but post it here.....

I have been shooting the same WB for over 4 years now w/ NO replacement of whiskers yet...

I never wanted to use one ,, I thought it would be a failure with the issue of fletching contact / ECT ......... I only used it because I had to as an emergency in the field & it was given to me by someone........ If it didnt work / I wouldnt still be using it

Although it has started to wear / Slightly........ I will be using it all season again since It is dialed in & I am used to it ... Why switch this time of year ?

I shoot thru the year in my backyard / I shoot in Heat / Rain / Sleet & Snow ,,, I shoot winter leagues as well......... Very Little to NO damage on my straight vanes after a years worth.... Only real damage i encounter,, is when Other arrows contact each other from the groupings -- Thats about it .........

The ONLY problem I have had with this rest is this :

    * If your out & about / Walking thru the woods & whatnot - Make sure your WB is free of debris because a small piece of bark in there WILL make noise against your arrow as you draw back.............

Other than that - the only noise you will encounter is with your choice of arrow shaft -- My Maxima 250's were noisy because of the cross weave in the carbon ,,,,, A shaft with a coating will eliminate all of that issue ........

Its funny how many say the WB makes all this noise ..... I have been looking at getting into a Drop away for 2 years now & i just cant seem to do it ...

    1) Most dont have good arrow containment / Arrows still bounce around in them!!!

    2) Or they make too much noise themselves during the shot..........

The slap of the drop against the riser / The added weight / The mechanics are never something to bet on / You still have to place silencing materials on them after they wear .... I have seen a few people not get total fletching clearance because they dont drop fast enough to begin with so ,,,,, The more mechanical & moving parts you have / The greater the chances are that something will fail ,,,,, & thats the Harsh Reality of it all

Yeah they look cool & they do most often work.... I have been looking into a drop away myself because my WB is just now starting to show its age &, I want to try gaining tighter groupings by using helical vanes / Blazers & such but,,,,, I will most likely pass it off onto my younger sisters or wifes bow ....... Because it still has life in the Original whiskers .... (You have to remember / I got it used from another person as an emergency back up over 4 years now)

I have been told this by a few well known car & bike builders when I have asked them about stepping up my game as a custom automotive builder/Painter/Airbrush artist & here it is ...........

    Keep it simple stupid

I've been using one for two years now and I'm very happy with it. I just love the containment factor, I don't need to worry about it falling or rattling around.

Only down sides I have heard of are the prolonged contact with the arrow (which could cause your arrow to move if you torque your bow), wearing on your vanes and also I've heard that it can freeze up if it gets wet during the winter. I have had a little wear on my vanes, but as long as your fletchings arent hitting the string, they should be in pretty good shape.

Overall I would highly recommend it. It's consistent, quiet in my mind and sturdy.

Great rest, I have 5 inch vanes and they go into the rest so 4inch or less work great. It does make a noise so far the deer haven't heard it, but that's because it seems to rain every time I go in my stand! Haha, works fine in the rain and cold, I can see maybe if it's so cold it ices over there could be an issue, but they sell a spray to make sure that doesn't happen. This rest is the way to go, it gives you 1 less thing to worry about and that's your arrow falling off your rest and when you have a big buck infront of you that's the last thing you want is to be so excited you shake and your arrow falls off haha.

    biscut

yea its a good rest. i have the 40 dollar wal mart trophy ridge on my xforce ss and i have shot about 300 arrows through it and it is still in good shape. it is excellent for hunting. the only other rest that i would recomend to a hunter is the new QAD ultra rest HD pro. it is a drop away rest and it locks into the up position and hold the arrow in place. all the reviews are great on it seems like a great rest other than the $140 price tag. it will be my next rest in the weeks to come. the biscut does slow your arrow down some

Loved my Biscuit. Had a hard time getting rid of it till i discovered the Vital Gear Line of rests! Full contain, and Drop away. even at full draw. And I have yet to have a problem after 2 years. I love it.
